Fair point. I think the point I was trying to make is that I'm sure Stuart sees the problem too, but he has to manage the situation and can't just come out and openly say what he really thinks

 

What problem the window doesn’t close till October plenty of time to add the two or three more to make up the allowed squad. Probably one or two permanent and maybe a loan or two

 

True, it would just be nice to hit the ground running and have the players integrated into the squad asap - and make no mistake, as happy as Stuart says he is with the way things are going in pre season, this team as it stands has a very mid table look about it

Agreed Park. But as I always say, the league programme starts at game 1 with points to play for, not game 8 (or whatever).
Valuable points can be lost 'waiting' for the transfer window to close.
We should be up and running from the first whistle.

 

I agree but loans for example usually come late and this year more than ever with so many players looking for clubs wage rates will be driven down and players will be having to settle for less and it’s not just for us if you look at other clubs the same applies.

 

I would have hoped Guthrie would have been given his chance at some time, as you say Stuart seems to be happy with regards what he's seeing on the training pitch this may be the lads chance, he needs to take it by scoring and proving Stuart right.

The lack of even a decent rumour is concerning in itself. I’ve always favoured getting the defence in early doors and getting them playing together as much as possible, yet we’re only a week from our first competitive match and we’re short in several positions. My expectations were extremely low but they’ve dropped even below that now. Getting beyond the joke now. Fair enough add the finishing touches as and when but we’ve not even got the bare necessities (right back and CDM). Poor.

2016/17? It’s season 20/21 we are heading into. How he performed 4 years ago is no guide as to how he will perform now. 4 years ago McArdle was an absolute monster. Are we bringing him back?

Yeah I’m with you been giving them benefit of doubt for a while now but it’s getting a joke! We don’t even have a first 11 never mind strength in depth. It’s not like we haven’t had long enough to get into players heads and try convince them to sign! Last time we signed players late On hardly went well!

 

I believe I am right don’t think we signed Lee mills till the season had started. The likelihood is we will have a loan player at right back who will have been fully prepared. There is still almost three weeks until the league starts

 

Circumstances then, and circumstances now, really couldn't be any further apart. We're a different football club in every sense.
