Though he is probably losing a fortune whilst Flamingo Land is closed, would it be worth the board asking Gordon Gibb for a season long deferment of the rent for VP.It is not in his interests for City to go under,as all he would be left with is a load of steel and concrete that would probably be worth less than the cost of dismantling it.The ground VP stands. on is hardly prime building land,so financially,it is in his,or his pension funds, interest to see City survive.

Maybe ask for a year off rent but an extra year on the lease

I would think as you say a "rent break" would possibly be the way forward if Rupp wants a bit of breathing space, of course I don't have a clue if that would be possible with Valley Parade being an asset of the Flamingo Land Pension Fund ?.

I think VP is actually the Gordon Gibb Family, personal pension fund and is totally separate from Flamingo Land.

One of the interviews with Ryan Sparks last week mentioned this. Can't remember what he said exactly but suggested that they hadn't had the discussion yet as it wasn't needed but would have the discussion and see what agreement they could come to if it was needed.

If you were a private landlord with a portfolio of properties filled with tenants, would you let them all have rent breaks just because they ask?
I think the answer would be no.

If it could eventually lead to no rent at all because the tenant might leave your premises I would have to seriously think about it, as you know it was just an option Rupp could peruse after reading many high street businesses are asking for a reduction or rent break.

Whilst VP is a bit shabby round the edges, it is still probably one of the best grounds in the division.
If you had been going to City since the 60's, you would know what crumbling was.

Exeter, Macclesfield, Cambridge, Newport, Mansfield. The list goes on.
VP is like Wembley compared to those schittt holes
