407k volunteers mate. More will come forward. The lockdown method is modelled on people going to work so for me this is a short term mindset from the government.

The next step will be to increase locations for hospitals e.g. Using conference centres etc.

Come June hopefully curve with be down then behind closed door games for football.

As for EFL behind closed door games. Players and squads tested and antibody tests. The EFL will have to put more money in to support the clubs.

Ending the season brings no rewads and certainty see clubs go to the wall.

But my point is that after an initial spike in the next couple of weeks the strategy is to keep the numbers down over a longer period, in fact deliberately prolonging the outbreak and reducing the slope. Even if the number of cases reduces considerably the measures taken so far will remain in place to prevent a further flare up. I just can't see how football can resume until it is completely safe to do so, and that won't come soon enough to complete the season. And then there is the distinct possibility of clubs going bust before then (see Wetherby whaler), players being released from contracts, teams losing players to the disease and the fact that playing sport is very low on the county's list of priorities.

I am not sure behind closed doors helps any of these clubs? Some have missed out on 6 more paydays until the end of the season?

the nhs volunteers would not be used to finish the football season if that’s what you’re suggesting?

    It's not sport.

Bradford City is a business. Trying telling Mr Rupp it's just sport. Tell the tea lady at the club it's just sport.

The lockdown can't go on forever, so spike or not we all need to go back to work at some point and I believe the call will be June.

May is the due peak and all we are doing now is to stay on top of things but things like the 80% or 2.5k are not working for businesses and clubs like ours will need more support.

Over 477k have signed on in 9 days. So like it or not they has to be an end date to try to move forward.

Next season is just a date that can be moved.

No of course not but they will be used to help out now until when ever.

Behind closed doors helps finish the season but the EFL or government will have to do more for clubs.

The government needs to do more for the general public. Last weeks announcement is proving not enough.

Well none of us know how it will all pan out. We'll just have to wait and see. Whatever happens it's an awful mess.

    It's an awful mess mate.

Just hoping the June date is true because as soon as sport is back on be it on tv (even behind closed door) then we are a step closer to normality.

If this season is voided we will not get a payment from the McBurnie contract.

A further point. If players return to training it will only take one of them getting the virus for all of them to go into isolation. What then?

Not voided, Storck, just terminated. I posted on this thread what I think will happen and according to today's Yorkshire Post we may be a step nearer my forecast.
Paper reporting National League (by implication Conf. North and South also) will terminate any day with Barrow and Harrogate promoted to L2.
I know Fordy doesn't agree but it's in black and white. Still to be confirmed of course.

The same will apply when everyone goes back to work or in an office. The virus isn't going away anytime soon but we at some point we all have to go back to work.

Boris doesn't seem bothered about that in the construction industry so everyone else can get round it.

However, to answer your questions. I feel it will be 3 games a week for 3 weeks with testing done on all players if a player gets it before matches. If a player gets it then that club and other club has to isolate for 7/14 days then we go again. Talking 9 games here.

For the PL they can all just stay in hotels for 3 weeks like a pre season. Suppose the EFL clubs could too.

    It can be solved mate.

What we going to do end sport for good? Wait until next year until we have a vaccine? Meaning about 45 clubs including Bradford City go to the wall? Let all businesses small or large go under? No, we just some figuring out!

    No mate, I don't agree.

Non league is a little different though as it doesn't really have the money to solve problems and the TV money is really small and they're accepting that they can't help any club. Think I heard Neville say he's glad Salford are the EFL rather than National League for that reason.

The EFL and PL though would have bigger problems if they do that now. The Euros haven't been moved just so countries can end their league now.

If we still all in lockdown come September then the whole of the UK is in trouble never mind football then maybe but March then no as solutions will have to be found.

9 games! It's not difficult to fit them in.

I think @Fordy117@Fordy117 is just panicking that Liverpool won’t win the title. Or they’ll win it with an *, which means they’ll be sort-of Champions.

Not panicking at all.. no need too.

More worried about Bradford City not making it through this.

Now that’s a more genuine concern. This could finish a number of clubs off..

If the paper report is correct about promotion from the NL then that will have been accepted by the EFL.
That being the case the EFL are clearly of a mind to accept the principle of a cessation throughout.

    Seriously, I am mate.

End the season now then they is no hope because what you wanting is next season to be perfect but at this minute we all don't know what this nightmare is going to end. So let's say the perfect solution is next year when hopefully a vaccine is created but a lot of clubs won't see next season. Talking about ending this one some how gives them hope.

    * Leeds comfiest players, coaching and senior management have volunteered to a wage deferral for the foreseeable future.

    - so if Leeds are doing this with all their money and possible promotion to the PL then soon from now we will hear about clubs really struggling including Bradford City.

A solution needs to be found to get these players training and back playing. Hopefully, in 3 weeks because if this semi lockdown continues for much longer we are all in trouble and I don't care where you work!

Ok, I don't understand why Harrogate would get promoted. They're in a play off place.

However, to your main point.. Not necessarily because 2 clubs would have been promoted anyway. If they want to end the season fine but it will also end any talk of the EFL and PL helping non league clubs because they would have made their move.

that is why I said voided, cos some were saying that is what would happen, West Ham we’re pushing for it at PL meeting.

No they wasn't. In fact the other owners were extremely mad at Brady for her madness suggestion.
