I can't get my head round this. yes we need a striker, but we also are criminally short out wide, and don't actually have a midfielder that can win the ball.

A decent record at under 23 level for QPR but nothing special on loan at walsall last season.

Pace which is great but approx 5 foot 9 so it looks like bowyer has gone off signing six footers for his squad.

 

He's not even come up to Bradford yet. Has the definite feel of a last minute panic signing, which is ridiculous given we've known for weeks we need a replacement for Doyle.

Hi, QPR fan here with a bit of insight on Oteh for you.

Oteh is a decent up and coming striker who could go on to be a good championship striker imo. He's fast, strong and has an eye for goal and over the past 2 seasons he's been on the fringes of our squad and even scored a couple of goals. When he went on loan to Wallsall last season most QPR fans were pretty pissed off about it as none of our strikers had lit the world on fire and Oteh was doing well in his sub appearences for us.
He's scored bags of goals for our U23's though and despite his short size he's pretty stocky and able to muscle his way past defenders.

Yes, he didn't do well at Wallsall but that club is a bit of a mess anyway atm and he wasn't really given a proper run of games as most of his appearences were off the bench.

He started this preseason as our only striker at the club and had the chance of cementing his place in our team but didn't do well during his runouts. I think he needs to rebuild his confidence in a league that he can grow in and this move to you guys in League 2 will do him good and you'll reap the rewards from him.

He is very highly rated at QPR though and the last 2 attackers we've loaned to League 2 over the past 2 seasons (Eze and Chair) tore the league up and are now very much established first teamers. It's not all doom and gloom, I think you'll be pleasantly surprised by Oteh if he finds his confidence again

 

Sounds promising; but can he also play creative midfield and defensive midfield as well ..………….? Let's hope there's more movement in the loan market before too long.

 

Thank you @qprfan, for your balanced write up. I am sure he will do well, he has the best strike force in league 1&2 to help him develop. Unfortunately, he will be on the subs bench atm, but I am sure he will get his turn.

But we were always signing a back up, and as a back up he might just do.

@qprfan Thanks for that info. Sounds a promising signing for us. Lets hope he goes back to you at the end of the season with a promotion on his CV. Now THAT would boost his confidence.
