What is the average price of a season ticket in league 2? Say it’s a fair estimate of £300, another club has to get around 6/7,000 to match us. Judging by most of the clubs at this level next season none will sell that many. Then there’s the extra revenue that comes with having more bums on seats. Even with cheap tickets we should still bring in more income than every other team by a fair way at this level.

Our deficit is owned by the director Stefan, not to any other organisation. Of course he will want a return on his investment, but he won’t be getting one anytime soon. He knows that, and when he came he made it absolutely clear he was in this for the long haul. Obviously like the rest of us, he didn’t think we would be in this situation thanks to his megalomaniac partner.

This season will be a balancing act, to make sure we have sufficient funding to maintain the club, and then it will be up to the Board whether they want to just maintain or go for promotion.

The important word there is “investment.” When you invest you expect a return. Is he ever going to get a return? Unlikely. What did he pay for the club.. £6mill? We have nearly a £3mill deficit. So we are up to near £9million. He is going to take quite a substantial hit in my opinion.

We looked to have raised roughly £1,5000,000 so far with Season ticket sales. Do people seriously believe that this will go straight into the first team?

We lose 250k straight away in solidarity payments. We spent over £150k on agent fees last summer. We have rent to pay and operating costs throughout the summer. We will have other payments to make to cover the current deficit. Player values will now be less if we are looking to move players on due to the fact we are in the lowest division and its highly unlikely any of these players will have relegation clauses so some of the wages we will be paying for league 2 will be massive.

We have had some decent away followings this season. We wont get anywhere near that in league 2.

I have said that selling 12k season tickets is great but it is only because they are dirt cheap. Financially though we are no better off and if anything the deficit people are talking about is only going to increase.

JULIAN Rhodes insists City are braced for the battle ahead of getting back on an even keel.

Rhodes has warned to expect a difficult summer as the club, currently six points off safety, look to right the wrongs from the over-spending under Edin Rahic.

“We’re not in a great position. We’ve spoken about the financial situation this season and we want to get back to how the club was before.”

“When I agreed to come back, I didn’t realise until I looked at the figures how bad it was.”

“Even if we stay up, the summer will be difficult. But Stefan’s going to back the club”

“There is a drawback, of course. Because of the reduced prices Bradford are not making two or three times as much money as their rivals. Roughly speaking, they have dropped their prices by half and gained twice as many supporters, so income-wise they are little better off. “

Ok, what do you think Rupp will do? He has his investment, he can’t make any money if he sells the club, if he doesn’t invest, we could be looking at double relegation with admin at the end of it. Yes we have overheard sassy you say, but they are always there. Think the rent goes down if we get relegated. I still come back to the same point, how is he going to get any return on his investment?

I don't think it does @Onside@Onside, the deal Julian struck with Flamingo Park Pension Fund would be the same no matter what league we are in.
I believe they offered a rent that fluctuated depending which league we we're in but as I say Julian turned it down, maybe @wetherbywhaler@wetherbywhaler can tell us if that is the case ?.

You've missed some very important words off your final comment. The fact is that, according to the clubs' financial accounts at least, a majority of clubs in the lower leagues do run at a deficit ... if it wasn't for their owners underwriting their losses.

Those last few words make all the difference!

In simple terms, there is no evidence of any significant investment having been made in the club since Rahic left other than perhaps some short term working capital. If somebody has some hard evidence that further investment has been made, I'd like to see it. And I'm not referring to any fine words or comments but real, hard evidence.

JR left the cat out of the bag in his interview in the YP. JR referred to Rupp having 'pledged to cover the deficit' which suggests to me that nothing has happened as yet. Now that the money from the ST sales is rolling in, that ought to be sufficient to keep the wolf from the door for the time being.

Maybe Rupp is embarrassed having let Rahic have free reign to rack up such debt, the lack of control from the ‘money man’ made no sense.

Surely the ST money won't keep a 2/3M debt away for long at all though Dennis?

Its all just speculation from the fans. At no point has anyone other than the fans said that Edin had free reign and was doing what he wanted without Rupp's say so.

Am I? Or am I looking beyond the end of my nose and the easy blame game. Why cant you see that the problem lies deeper than someone who hasn’t been near the club in 6 months. I suppose you are one of the people that think Rupp deserves a chance because while sat in Germany he wrote a little piece saying he will cover our losses. Deluded.

If you really believe the club has a £2-3mill debt, what hard evidence (again not hearsay or fine words but hard evidence) is there to support your comment?

As you know the original wording on the fly bye was " Edin & Stefan" but when you are requested not to fly it because of the stituation it could cause, do you ignore that sort of advice and say to hell with the consequences. or take the request at face value and stand it down.
As fans I'm not sure what we can do apart from take the man at his word and hope he delivers.
Just out of interest what would you suggest we as fans do ?.

I've no idea Dennis I'm just going from what I've read on here and JR saying it was bad in the YP. It was a genuine question as you clearly have more of an idea about £ than I. My question was that if we are 2m in the red, surely the revenue generated by STs wouldn't take us very far before some sort of large cash injection is needed?
