    Not usually a radio listener for music, but Radio 2 was playing in works restaurant yesterday, and Steve Wright was playing Led Zeppelin - I never thought Id hear Zep on Radio 2!

    Led Zeppelin IV remains my favourite album of theirs

    Listening to Jeff Beck a lot lately. There was a really good documentary about him on TV recently which reminded me about him.

    I loved his Blow by Blow album in the 70s and played it to death, but never followed his stuff after that.

    He's an astonishing player. He's developed a technique of playing with no pick and using his whammy bar (ooh er missus) in an extraordinarily expressive, melodic manner. Tunes like Where Were You and Nadia give me goosebumps.
    The live album from his week long residency at Ronnie Scott's is on Spotify and it's a total killer. Guest appearances from Clapton, Joss Stone and Imogen Heep are a nice bonus.

    I'm a Zep 1-4 man myself. I find their later stuff to be less dynamic and exciting than the first four albums.

    That was when I stopped buying Yes albums. Topographic Oceans was tedious as hell and then never did it for me after that.
    But The Yes Album, Fragile and Close to the Edge are all superb.

    Agree, topographic oceans can only be listened to once! I do enjoy Relayer though. Close to the Edge is probably my favourite.

    Probably a useful album if you have trouble sleeping.
    Then again, maybe not. You'd probably keep yourself awake anticipating the five minutes of it that actually gets going.
