We love them especially the baby ones with pepper and butter.

Sorry, but that is parsnips. Utterly, utterly evil. The Trump of the vegetable world.

Whaaaat! You need a tastebud transplant.

A properly roasted parsnip is one of the finest taste experiences available to humankind.

Especially when you dig them up and straight into the roasting tin within minutes
Massive taste difference when growing your own

Definitely. Mind you, I think that applies to pretty much any home grown vegetable. There again, I would say that, veg growing being one of my hobbies. Homegrown parsnips, carrots, tomatoes, sweetcorn and peas have the biggest improvements on shop bought stuff.

We'll just have to agree to disagree. For me they are sweet, sickly, and most suited for putting straight on to the compost.

I'm with you @Steelcitybantam@Steelcitybantam, but maybe that's down to our lass's cooking rather than the taste ;).

I don’t mind parsnips, but the other half hates them, too sweet. My son is the same, he put his fork into what he thought was a roast potatoe, it was a parsnip, lol

I have tried to remain silent, or at least polite, in the face of Hanson haters and Rahic supporters, Fordy's negativity and Chaos' positivity, Trump proponents and Brexit opponents, moaning Minnies and happy clappers but this attack on one of the crowning glories of the vegetable kingdom must be criticised in the strongest possible terms: :poop:. Take that!

Now if you had said cauliflowers, then I would have agreed with you. Strongly. They truly are the devil's own food.

(Should I mention that I had an excellent crop of parsnips this year? I pulled the last about a week or so ago, and so have a fair few sitting in storage. One will appear at dinner in about an hour from now, sliced thinly, coated in flour and Parmesan, and fried til golden and crunchy. Mmmmm....)

And isn't it nice to be able to enjoy a good win and argue instead about vegetables? If we keep on doing this til May we'll have had a good season, or at least a non-relegation season, after all.

You could set up your own on-line dating agency, mate and call it 'Plenty of Veg'.

Sprouts V Parsnips V Cauliflowers. An epic battle.

I still hate sprouts nearly as much as Steve Evans.

I wonder if any of our resident photoshop experts could come up with Evans face on a sprout just like the Sun did with Graham Taylor.

Didn't know Steve Evans hated sprouts. Thought he liked showing off his meat and two veg.
