Jenson Metcalfe Signs on 3 Year Contract

Not sure if we need a striker.. Swan looked decent yesterday and with Cooky coming back i think we are good Kav and Leigh can step into striker role if either are injured

 

Reading up on him he seems more like a replacement for Khela as opposed to Smallwood

 

I am guessing he was meant to be one of the two loans, but the option to buy him became available. Can't see us bringing in another two players plus Metcalfe as the squad is pretty stacked already

 

Does his age mean he is not counted as a player?

 

I'm happy with Swann and Kav, but I think we saw last year that Leigh can't step into the strikers role

 

Good signing. I’d love us to now sign an experienced DM and I think that’s it. Up top we’ve got Humphries, Kav, Swann, Lapslie, Leigh and Cook when he’s back. However, if we signed a proper centre forward, I’d also be happy. But we tried that with Mellon and it didn’t work out.

Correct. He won’t count as a squad member as he was U21 on 1 Jan 2025.

 

When we were told that our owner was investing more this season then this is the kind of signing I was hoping for. Something of an investment over and above what we may have done in recent seasons.

Fingers crossed he has a good season.

 

I think we need an experienced defensive midfielder more than a striker. Being greedy, I would take both though to complete the squad.

That’s an absolute cracking signing from what I have seen of him …Maybe a longer deal , but hats off for the ambition .

 

I mean we were told we were only signing loans about 5 signings ago so it must be a loan…

But in all seriousness I’m happy with this one, the sort of investment we should be making.

 

Does it mean we can still bring two “loans “ in because of his age? Like Bobby he won’t count in the squad perhaps?
