Summer 2025 transfer rumours

I think we stay up with relative ease. Relegation hasnt even entered my mind if I am honest.

 

I love the way our signings are written off before a ball is kicked, remember last year when we signed National league defenders apparently ,yet we had the 2nd best defensive record in the league and conceded just 4 goals at Valley parade from January to May. We will be fine,there will be setbacks at times but we will finish mid table.

 

We've kind of signed one proven/potential league one player in each position - Wright, Neufville, Power, Humphrys. So when we hear "increase in the budget" what it ostensibly means is that we're paying most of the existing squad more and we've spent a bit more than we usually would on those four players.

There's still time yet but it feels like the squad is pretty much full so we need to hope some of the players from last season can step up to league one level.

 

Are we not expecting two or three to be moved on in Smith, Wilson plus possibly Odour , with two loanees to fill the compliment?

 

Stockport offered Sarcevic a 12 month contract when they were promoted, so clearly did think he was good enough. We just happened to offer a 2 year contract which Sarcevic thankfully accepted

 

Between 18th mark for me, shoulder looking. Hope am wrong but there’s been way to much back patting and not enough quality brought in

We have brought in two good wing backs one proven one with good potential two or three well liked decent central defenders we have added quality to the midfield. Like you I would have liked to have seen a really good striker to challenge Cook but it’s evolution not revelation it’s our first season back and it’s going to take time. But we have made a good start

 

Thought I'd check your accuracy on this statement. His 24/25 forecast for league 2:-
1) MKD 2) Notts c 3) Donny 4)Gills 5)Carlisle 6) Chezzie 7) Vale. He forecast Tranny to finish 9 and us 15. How dare you suggest his forecasts are not accurate.

 

Did he not get a 3 year or was it initial
2 year deal?

I asked Sutton why he had Wimbledon above City and this was his reply:

1) Wimbledon have the better goalkeeper (and GK coach)
2) Wimbledon have retained their back-line, and have great defensive solidity, whereas you've lost Shepherd who I think was important
3) Wimbledon have a far more modest history as a club, rooted in non-league, which might make it easier in some ways for them to pull together in adversity
4) You've lost Richie Smallwood without replacing his qualities, whereas they've retained Ali Smith - similar type of player of equal or greater importance

Wimbledon have a better keeper and coach ? Really , Bishops has played 14 recent games for a side who was relegated to L2 . Back up keeper has played 2 games in 4 years in non league football.
