I fancy you to win that particular bet, can't see them finishing outside the top 6. Defence looks a bit better than what we have, midfield strengthened, presumably they will get the goals too.

Keeper looks an astute signing on loan, the lad who helped Wimbledon go up despite a small budget.

We'll see. They're under enough pressure to derail themselves if things don't start well, in which case they could sink like a stone. Doubt it though.

 

Need Bobby and Humphrys to pile in with goals and assists next season and get a rich Championship team to pay over the odds.

Hopefully we see some movement on these loans this week or at least next be nice to get them in with the squad training etc before start of season

 

Totally agree. It'll be sad to get attached to a young talent and see them go, but if we want to get on the big spending ride we need to actually get big fees and become a selling club. By selling club I mean one that actually has good assets to sell.

I have another theory...on the day the top 5 maybe 8 could /mayeb beat us? But if we do cup mentally we may win half of these games... the rest of the group are just sides that can be beaten... goals are what is needed this year and I think we have the areas were they may come from. Also hope Sarc and Patty are fit for the battle... Wycombeeeeee battled at the top all season so lets see.

I'm also well aware that we have a monstrously tough opening month, and I'm hopeful that our fans recognise that we're the new boys in the division and we're not a Wrexham and we won't be trampling all and sundry.

I'm more than a little worried at playing that back line against two of the very best strikers in the division in our opening two home games.

We haven't lost those games yet, of course, but I do hope our fans stick with us even if we get a bit of a toweling in one or both of those games.

I think we need to be relaxed about what other teams are spending or not. Football unfortunately is not equitable there will be teams spending more and some less.we have brought in some good experience and like @JonButterfield says provided we don’t let expectations run away with us there is no reason we shouldn’t do well

Not at all, I said “if only” just yesterday. The issue is how they are run, running up big operating and playing debt . As long as people like Nagle exist writing off huge sums as “ spending money” , then the EFL and supporters will be happy . One thing is plain, as a result , it’s not a level playing field .

 

Really hope not. He would be an awful waste of a wage.
