I don’t live too far from Wycombe - I go to the odd game but didn’t go to any last year. They’ve signed 8 or 9 this summer so maybe there’ll be a bit of settling in required for them. 2/1 is a good price and they have a 20 goal striker from last year in Kone. I’ll see if I can pick up any local vibes on the game.

2nd August feels a very early start for the league season.

Not complaining, much easier for me to get to games at this time of the year.

Can't wait for that first game as well.

Celtic bid for him this week I believe? Someone who writes in the notoriously garbage FLW “valued” him at £7m and added the word “ if” so he may go for much less with some add ons . Yes he knows where the net is for sure.
We have seen him at VP, he came on as a sub after 56 mins in that semi final game last Feb .

 

He's worth a lot to Wycombe, potentially their gateway back to the Championship and the additional income that brings. If he went to Celtic, was successful, scoring in the Champions League etc he's suddenly a £20m+ player. I would definitely be looking at several million for him, might not get it.

 

Curious story as well because he was playing in non league because his visa status meant he couldn't become a pro for some time.

Naturally he scored a ton at that level.

Don't usually hear that kind of story though, a player obviously good enough just not being allowed to play at a high level.

 

Absolutely , multi faceted deals , high cost sale/ low or no sell on, low sale/ high sell on, payment terms cash up front or instalments over contract length and so on. Can be structured in many ways .

 

Gonna be a completely different look to the team. Right now can think of just 2 names definitely starting. Walker and Sars and the rest take your pick. Exciting times ahead when you can't put Bobby into your starting 11? Or can we? And build around them? And there's Patto who would walk into a league 2 set up-but league 1? What are we thinking about Patto.

Then there's Power and Humphreys. Both really decent signings but do they walk into the first 11?
