That's been Peterboroughs mantra for along time now and is essential for a club that's competing against a lot bigger clubs in terms of backers and income from game days. It helps attract young prospects like Brandon Khela as he can see a clear.path to the higher divisions of he shows good form.
That's not really our style, to be fair there are only a few clubs in the lower division ls that spend on young talent like Peterborough do. Alexander clearly likes experience in his squad and we've carried on that strategy with this seasons transfers.

GA in todays T&A..

Optimistic Richards will sign a new deal. I reckon we may have quietly taken the one year option to secure him if he doesnt agree the new deal - think we have a deadline on that? Club under no obligation to announce publicly.

Oduor very much part of the squad and fighting to get fit after knee injury kept him out of season end last season.

Looks to me that Wilson and Smith are the only 2 he wants rid of now but that could change before September 1st. If young Tyriek doesnt have a good pre season he could be surplus. We all seem to think Byrne too but I see GA wanting 6 CBs for 3 places and Baldwin is suspended for first 2 games.

 

I'm guessing with Oduor that GA wants his versatility and probably isn't the highest earner in the squad. Can't imagine him as a starter, but can see him being used as a sub. He's shown some good moments for us, but nowhere near enough. Perhaps part of the squad depending on how the rest of the transfer window goes?

 

Sounds like Richards is still not fully fit and is still doing recovery work after his operations. That's probably hampered any potential move he may have been looking at, as he'd surely fail a medical.

 

Im not convinced he was looking to move. Maybe used some rumoured interest just to increase his bottom line.

 

Yeh thats what im thinking - a lower earner (he got a 3 year deal so probably spread out). As a 5th choice CM, someone for pizza cup and someone to fill on the bench now and again hes not the worst option.

 

Mansfield fans think he's signing for them any day now. I dont know if they are an official feeder club, but Mansfield have had 3 loanees from them in the last 4 seasons, so it's an option they are used to. One was actually Will Swan.

 

I still dont know what to make of Odour.

When he has started games, he has looked ineffective and anonymous. When he has come on as a sub, he has looked a different player occasionally

His pace should help the team get forward quicker, but he doesnt always seem to have that belief.

All in all, not bothered either way whether he stays with us or not.

Makes sense for Forest , it’s a bus ride to keep a check on them…. You would think Leeds would use us ?

 

Quite possibly may do now we are in L1. I dont think a lot of PL teams are keen on sending their kids for L2 football. Obviously exceptions like Palace.
