Villa had a young lad out on loan last season , sorry can’t recall who he played for . He was excellent , in the Abbott mould. What’s happened to the ex Grimsby lad ( They sold him ?) who tore us to shreds in that role in 2024 ?

Villa’s Louis Barry was the one at Hull, however he played against us for Stockport . Way above our pay grade now .

Louis Barry was close to signing for Hull a few days ago for £3.5mil with a 50% sell on clause but it looks like the move might not happen now as Hull are struggling to afford the fee and his wages.

Cardiff too says a news article. I dunno, apparently he has a release clause of £500k and L1 teams seem to be spending that or more than that this summer on players. He's the type we should be looking at for sure for a starting spot with Power cant get back to form or Pattison gets a knock. He's only 22 so there's still a potential re-sale value and i doubt he wants to play L2. Conteh missed half last season, had a knee injury and then found out he had a bone infection on the back of it.

 

Just seen Pat Whelan (Daves wife) has died, Sharpes grandmother, so he will be on bereavement leave for a wee while. Sorry for his loss.

 

I read Brum offered them a straight up £8m with no sell on clause but Villa said no. They must expect him to become a £20m player in the future.

I’m sure it was all to avoid Villa having to pay a transfer fee to WBA

 

I think the better players are the ones that the clubs genuinely might want to keep which is why it's not until squads are nearly finalised that these lads actually get a pass to go play somewhere.

Definitely a lazy fecker though and with his ability he could have gone much higher.

 

They also did about the lad they sold to Stockport but that's nearly £5M quid they've taken in transfers and they were unlucky with the lad that went abroad otherwise it would have been substantially more.

We're absolutely miles off that level of income, even if we're maybe not that fast off in terms of ability.
