Fc United of Manchester pre season friendly

As mentioned before, under our large terrace behind the goal (known as the SMRE), we've got an event run by our own supporters called Course you can malcolm, It'll be on from 1.30pm and is free for anyone in the ground. They've got a band sorted - details here

"Our band this week is The Early Mornings, fresh from their Friday night appearance at Manchester Pop Fest. Formed in Manchester, now based in London, The Early Mornings most recently released their 2nd EP ’Ultra-Modern Rain’ (Practise Music) which shows, once again, their knack for crafting tight and spiky songs, bringing a metamorphic mix of hooky pop and unpredictable tangents. Minimalism gives way to big, distorted sections, striking a balance between bitter and sweet. This is also reflected by vocalist Annie Leader, with her deadpan singing sharing space with poetic lyrics and infectious melodies"

We also have a spoken word section too and for this one they'd like to get someone from the Bradford City Supporters Trust to come and talk about the club and the challenges supporters face. We've e-mailed them but haven't heard back. Is anyone on here a member of the trust and could provide us with a contact number so we can speak to the main organisers to see if they'd be interested in coming and saying a few words? Got to give them credit,they are making a big effort to keep us entertained on Sat.I hope it is a financial success for them.

Doubt it but worth a shot - away on holiday at the moment and wondering if there’ll be a stream to watch or failing that highlights after the match?

 

Gonna need the off field entertainment if GA's interview today is anything to go by.

Been practicing our shape without the ball for the last 2 weeks and tomorrows game is just another training session for us to show how much the players have taken on board.

I have decided to go today as my lad was pestering last night. I know where the ground is having delivered near there before but Is there plenty of street parking nearby the ground or do I need to find a proper car park.

 

GA has never hidden his dislike of pre season friendlies and couldn't care less whether they are entertaining to watch or even less the results.

Big enough reason for me not to waste money and time attending any of them.

 

I had a look at street view last night and going to try my luck on Woodstock Rd which is about 5 mins walk from the ground. If that doesn't pay dividends I'll venture slightly further out. This is Moston don't forget so probs best not to leave your prized possessions on display during the match!

 

1st half 11 for today. It will be interesting to see if it's Sarcevic or Leigh starting alongside Power in the middle. Lewis Boney is a 2nd year scholar who plays left back

 

Hope we can get three points today, important to start the season off well.

 

Is that the only subs? Im sure GA said a different 11 each half. Walker, Richards, Baldwin, Tilt, Pennington, Pattison, Lapslie, Kavanagh all missing.

 

There will be subs in both half's. Big squad been taken as not everybody will be ready for 45 minutes

This place will be more “interesting” if we get beat though.
