I wonder if GA is switching the front two tactics slightly? Last season when we got cracking we tended to have the right support attacker as Sarce or Lapslie, both right footed, then the left was mainly Pointon who's left footed too. Every now and again Walker, Leigh or Wright even would shuffle up there somehow but 2 of the 3 would usually start.

But from Humphrys Barnsley clips, he played on the left and always looks to cut in on his right foot. Wonder if GA might try a slightly different approach for the 2 support roles and have either Bobby or Wright to be the mirror role for the right hand side to Humphrys? Cutting in with their favoured foot and having an overlapping wing back opens up avenues?

I can’t see Wright starting a game , irrespective of the formation, however yes there could be a tweak .

Yes fully agree, was more just naming out left footed forwards that thinking he'd actually start. It would be Pointons role.

Jay Benn has joined Hartlepool, who are tipped to struggled in the NL this season. We've had worse loanees, but he wasn't really ever proper competition for Halliday.

No, just cover whilst Halliday went through his “spell” . He didn’t let us down to any extent either.

Good luck to him. Did okay when covering Halliday, but didn't think he was good enough to keep his place long term.

I'm sure he will do well at that level under a manager who thought he was too good for us!

Think I read they were signing Harry Chapman as well.

I do look at some of our signings and I think GA has a bit of rotation in mind for next term.

I thought Halifax would have had him back there?

If last season is a marker then absolutely , but Bobby and Humphrys are ahead , so it could be minor cup appearances for Wright otherwise I can’t see it.

Do you have any stats to back up your assertion that ‘we were very easy to create chances against last season’. That would suggest we were under the pump in many games, which is not my memory of last season.

Don't disagree but he has played on the right side enough in his career to maybe even compete with Sarcevic. He isnt exclusively a left winger.

Makes sense, he is a Hartlepool fan and still lives in the area it looks like. I remember being in the away end when we beat them under Hughes, think it was 3-0 or 3-1? Anyway, right after the game he went over to a side stand and looks like his family came over to the ad boards and he was giving kisses and hugs to them at full time. They were all in Hartlepool tops, he's there in his City kit, must have looked really weird to anyone going past if they didn't put 2 & 2 together.

He couldn't break into the Barnet side, another player with bags of talent but injuries have really hindered his career.

I don’t ever recall him playing or even drifting to the right side. . Who knows.

Sheffs Weds deadline has passed and "several Sheff Weds stars to hand in their notice today" says the local reporter. Only some U21 players ended up getting any money for June. Wednesday have 15 days after the notice to pay in full all owed monies, otherwise the players can walk.

Looks like Barry Bannon is officially a free agent. Along with Akin Famewo (CB) and Callum Paterson (FWD).Reckon all 3 will have Champ interest.

For other clubs - might not be as effective there but he is an option. Id say 5 attacking MFs is wise, especially with Sarcevics injury record. See Leigh playing deeper next term - don't think club are giving up on him just yet.

Paterson every managers dream, is competent pretty much on most of the pitch. Started off as a RB and has played CF the last few years but he has had spells on the wing and centrally too.

Famewo only played 13 times last term. Injured or out of favour? May see a drop to L1.

Yeah he wont be short of offers. Utility player who can do a bit of everything on that right side and up front. He also has a huge long throw i think from watching their games? Always looks like he runs his nuts off.

Charlton after Famewo apparently and some fans saying Doncaster want Bannan? Weird move for him unless they launch money at him, cant see that one at all.

Donny seem to have little to “ invest” so I can’t see them chucking £8-10k a week on a two year deal at Bannon for the life in me . They already have one money drain on a short term in Sharpe?

    Neither will we btw.

Seemingly comes from this image which is apparently at Donnys ground from a week or so ago. Some shot it down saying he was at a coaching course at the ground.
