At least Ryan may have responded to the interviewers email request for an interview, rather than have an automated response redirecting operational issues to the Supporters Trust!!

How times have changed!!

He still hasn't responded to my non abusive email nearly 18 months ago now....

 

Different expectations at Accrington.

 

And different levels of success. They were massively outperforming us during Sparks reign until last year which also included a league two title.

 

Sparks took charge when we were 23rd in League 2, while Accrington were an established midtable L1 side at the same point. A daft comparison.

 

Fair point, I didn't realise it was that long ago that Accy won the league.

It still seems like he's stretching it though calling this the toughest job in the football when Accy can win the league we were in with their very minimal resources.

 

Incredible achievement but took them 12 seasons of L2 football to build the foundations to do that. Dont know if they had the same CEO for that entire tenure. Doubtful.

He did say 'one of the toughest jobs'. I think he was talking more about the expectations and pressure than the resources available. The guy has had alot of criticism thrown at him, alot is vindicated but I very much doubt the Acci CEO would endure the same levels of abuse for 6th and 9th place finishes!

 

He might have done if he'd lied and spun to those fans as much as Sparks has during his tenure here.

 

Why is there? We’re all in the same game with the same goals. Doesn’t matter if you have 20,000 or 5,000 fans..
Bournemouth have an average attendance of 12,000. Are their expectations lower than ours because let’s face it you are basing your argument on season ticket holders.

 

Are you seriously suggesting all club fans have the same expectations and ambitions? Jesus christ.....our expectations for every single season in L2 was promotion, every summer. Not avoid relegation, not consolidation, not a play off push. I wonder what Bromleys expectations were last season - promotion?

In layman terms are our expectations the same as Huddersfield, Luton and Cardiff this coming season?

 

Why is he suddenly appearing he there and everywhere now ............ all he had to do was do ONE interview bur sadly his ego simply wont allow it will he be so vocal should we hit another bad patch ?????
I doubt it ..................the man has been at the heart of seasons of failure years of stupid statements ........." we dont accept mediocrity at Bradford City " while accepting worse ...............just let it be about the players and staff now they are the ones that will no doubt face the music should it go wrong unlike yourself

 

Such a short sighted view. There will be Bradford fans hoping we can make the playoffs this season based on nothing but pure belief. There will be others who will be happy with 15th.
Did you think the expectations of Luton fans was that they were going to get double relegation?
Like I said, we are all in the same game. We all go into the season with the hope of going up.
To suggest we have higher expectations than Accrington Stanley is naive and arrogant.. in my opinion.

 

He was FORCED to put a team together because im sure he said in one of his interviews pre Sharpe that we didnt need a man like him at the club ............so why change it suddenly ??????? It was down to the grumblings of the fans he should have known he was well out of his depth within his first 3 years but his own ego simply wouldnt allow him to admit it ...............had we continued down his route then fook knows where would have been .......... well we all know where.

Just do the one interview and move on jeeeez i bet hes pushing GA for interviews after promotion

 

I would be over the moon to stay in this league and that should be the main aim of the season anything else is a massive bonus

To many big hitters at this level with a lot more clout than us .............first time in how long where we go into a season with very little pressure on us and that for the next season or so will do me all day long

 

You are confusing fantasy with reality....what one expects and what happens are not the same thing!!! Hope (a word you used) and expectation are not the same thing either.

Yes, we do have higher expectations than Accrington - definitely mid to long term. At our cores, we are a bigger club, our foundations and history is proof of that. The only leveler would be someone throwing millions at them.

Sadly "Don't get relegated and don't go bust" was the mantra which came from the very top and ran through the club

 

Id suggest we don’t. Historically we aren’t a Championship club and have spent the last 2 decades in league one and two. We don’t have the money to get to the championship and stay there so realistically and based on our most recent history we are exactly where we are supposed to be. The same with Accrington.
I also realise my posts seem unnecessarily negative but these visions of grandeur from our fans does my head in. It’s absolutely brilliant we get the attendances we do but in reality it means absolutely nothing.

 

Don't disagree - a time when Rupp was completely disinterested. Folk can mock the protest and fan discontent but it seems to have woken a few up. We almost have a born again owner.
