Will Swan

Lets be honest, plenty of players we wouldnt give glowing reports too that have done well elsewhere....ditto with a few we have signed that have exceeded expectations.

 

I remember him having a stand out season or two for Chesterfield, but I bet he had some leaner seasons. Also Swan is still a young lad in comparison to Doyle.

 

Quite a lot of Barnsley fans did give glowing reports about him though, they just pointed out that we won't get the best out of him if we play him in a central forward role.

 

Nice one Wilsden , my optomistic outlook when one looks at his record .

I don’t know much about him but on the vid clip he’s scored some nice goals. Not tap ins.

 

A lot of doubt on here but before he joined Crawley a lot clamouring for him to sign for us.

I dont know much about him either but looks a good signing, seems to score goals a bit differently to what we are currently used to seeing - but of course thats only based on the video clips. Going to be interesting to see who we start with.

Will Swan has scored 4 goals as after coming on as a substitute this season, this is after scoring a club record six times after coming on from the bench last season. This makes him the Stags’ highest scoring substitute in the EFL, although Jake Speight scored 10 goals as a substitute for the Stags in the Conference.

You know what, even if Cook was fit or Kavanagh continues up front and retains his place, that's actually a very promising little stat right there...

A good striker is not always the most useful player off the bench.

Man Utd fans always rated Solskjaer as a 25 minute player and itvwas same with Villa and Duran. Some players are more effective against tired legs and make their impact that way.

I think Swan has a bigger part to play though. Seems the clib are taking a risk on him paying a fee and taking him from Crawley. Hw isnt an out and out striker so he can do his thing in multiple positions really.

 

I heard he was graceful up top , but you don't see his legs going like crazy.

And only the king can have him for dinner.

For those that have seen him actually play I’m more than sure he’s a replica and probably finished version of Kavanagh ? High press , hits with both feet . We shouldn’t compare as it’s unfair but watching the highlights ….its difficult not to draw that impression of him .

 

Really good stats. xG is a really useful meter to judge a striker's potential.
