Summer 2025 transfer rumours

This is my fear. One of the big things of getting out of League Two is better football but I feel we're going down the being solid and grinding our results route. Which I do understand to a large degree, just hope we have an ace or two up our sleeves when it comes to striker and attacking incomings.

 

Most of our business looks sound. Sensible, competitive League 1 signings. I don't think we'll trouble the top spots but it's the sort of business I think should keep us nicely mid table and pushing up a bit.

What's crucial though, is for Rupp to dig deep for a quality striker. A 35 year old Andy Cook fresh from an ACL, and Kavanagh, won't cut it.

 

Oh, and to add, a couple of quality loan signings need to be on our radar. They tend to happen later in the window though tbf

Give over. Nearly 300 appearances at L1 and Champ level - he’s exactly the type of player we need.

 

Cook will still be number 9.

 

Does anyone know if it's going to be announced before or after the fixture list comes out?

 

I'd have thought they have Windass announce the first 15, Lowe the next 15 and Wells announces the rest of the season. Only fair we let all these marquee signings announce our big fixtures for us!

 

Tyrece Fornah signed for Northampton. Someone I'd have snapped up in a heartbeat for our DM role.

 

Rumour has it the announcement will be him holding the fixture list on a big board.

I did think it was odd to chose fixtures day for the big announcement but now you've explained it like that, it makes perfect sense. Can't wait!

 

I guess this is the back up plan in case two of the three big signings give back word.

 

Are Sky covering it live ?

 

Sky will have to delay the fixtures to cover our signing.

I’ve heard they’ve recalled some of their senior reporters from the World club championship in the USA to cover the story.

 

Doesn't surprise me. They know what's going to attract the bigger viewing figures.

 

Not for me but hey we shall see. Tilt , Wright and Pennington haven’t come here to play second fiddle to someone who was offered a one year deal….sorry . The fact Kelky was offered only a year speaks volumes.

Six figure fees are just the norm at L1 now aren't they? Different since we were last here!
