Anyone been tracking it so far? I barely have, but tracking more how the conditions and pitches are holding up. There are a lot of complaints so far from the players in how the pitches are fairing, Bellingham is one who has said the pitches so far are just so cut up, slow and not up to standard for the world cup next year. Dunno how many NFL fans there are in here, but it's been a joke the past few seasons for ligament tears and injuries for players getting caught in the turf.

Also, the heat looks insane too at the minute. Chelsea training in the north east (Philly) yesterday and it was 40 degrees. Some of the matches are going to be stupidly hot next summer. They are going to have to massively alter the way they make pitches to make the WC as good as it can be. Two or three are covered arenas, so you might be able to help with fans/AC but the rest will be crazy heat.

I saw a bit of the Real Madrid game and the ball just didn’t bounce at all.
It was almost like they were playing with a burst ball.

Don’t know which ground it was.

Carolina, another NFL pitch. A lot don't have proper grass, its more fake turf kinda blend stuff and the balls are just crap for it. They need some serious rethinks over the pitches (and money spent) to get them up to snuff.

Thats the problem i think. It's all well and good replacing the NFL fake turf with real grass for football, but these stadiums don't have inbuild watering systems, drainage etc. The ground staff have to water it all by hand and maintain it like a back garden. Cant be easy in some of the heat they are facing either, the inconsistent field is going to be daft to watch.

It's not just the pitches but also the weather conditions in America so far 5 or 6 games have been delayed or suspended during play due to the weather. When there are going to be so many games to fit in and multiple games a day every day the broadcasters are not going to be happy with stoppages and games running into other games.

Qatar was just the start of World Cups being hosted for money not sport and ending up in chaos. The 2030 World Cup will be mad with it covering South America at the start with Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay getting a game each then the rest of the tournament is in Europe and Africa with Spain, Portugal and Morocco. Then in 2034 it's Saudi Arabia which is inevitable it won't be hosted in June and July, the issue FIFA will have is Ramadan in 2034 is mid November to Mid December added to that Saudi Arabia are hosting the Asian Games (Asia's version of the the Olympics) around the same time so that probably rules out the same timings as 2022 World Cup.

The pitch in Orlando tonight looks like the grass has been laid like a patio,

They'll have to do change something before the World Cup. Again, last night, after 85 minutes and Chelsea leading 1-0 the game was suspended for nearly 2 hours due to possible thunder storms, it's a joke.
