I've missed very few "first days back" Kev today was the first time there was no one on the front pitches, unless as you say they were being weighted etc, last season when I spoke with Alexander and asked why they were doing pre season in smaller numbers (groups of about 10/11) he said they did a spell of running and then in for their medicals which sounded right as it would make it easier for the medical staff rather than a full squad of 30 or so sat around.

 

He looks quite good in the video against Wolves under 21's. It would be a massive risk, but I don't know if I'd rather take this sort of signing over a young loanee from another league club. Obviously I'd be wanting a main striker signing, Kav next in line, this lad third in line.

I think Brum did very well out of Jude. Sold him for £25m fee and recieved £5m after the sale to Madrid with another £5m expected. £35m for a 17 year old!!!

They sold Jobe for £3m and just got another £5m in sell on fee. Maybe sold him too cheap but Jude was an amazing deal.

Being honest I’d prefer the lad from Orient, makes better footballing and financial sense, imho.

 

I watched quite a bit of Bristol City last season mainly to see Nakhi. He's definitely still a quality player and in the right set up I'm sure would be very effective in L1.
Kav could learn a lot from him, but I share your thinking on the financial implications of getting him back.

 

I reckon they'd be asking for a similar amount to be honest. With Wells, it's 1 year with an option at most now he's 35, Agyei you can look at longer but he's 28 now, so we don't exactly look at him with any re-sale potential anymore.

 

I can’t see them being on equal wages right now , asking for the same is one thing , getting it is another . Unless someone like Wells can bring in revenue to pay for his deal, say increased sponsorship or bigger crowds it’s a no, as in our case looking at the potential for big crowds in L1 even without Wells, there isn’t much scope there ?

Resale doesn’t come into my thinking to be fair , just football and our “ current” formation. Wells is probably a fox in a box , ( Billy Sharp type) whereas DA can play with real pace from the half way line . Can Nahki do that?

 

Yes there is another way, if you walk along woodlands drive (off Harrogate Road), at the point where the road forks up to the left heading towards Rawdon golf course go between the 2 houses and and there's a path which runs parallel with the other training pitch

 

I agree Agyei is and would be good but I think he thinks he is higher than us... Wells is a challenge and he owes us one...
