Tough call that one, but I think I agree with Mr Alexander.

Ciaran Kelly is a good Centre back and I think he will step up to L1 easily.

 

I usually do in reply to your first point says a bloke on the internet with an opinion , in response to another bloke on the internet who “ thinks” he has formed an opinion. Who knew …It’s a forum!

 

I just trust someone who's a bonafide expert on the subject.

 

Yes i posted similar. Williams is working at Bristol airport assistance disabled and mobility issued passengers on/off flights. He responded to a newspaper that reached out after a fan spotted him working there and said he wanted to do something worthwhile until his next football job appears. Fair play to him.

But the so called "plan" County have is with the same owners he started making his name with, and he doesn't fancy running it back. Their fans are not having a good morning it seems online!

 

Easily? Based on what? He wasn't a stand out in league 2, just a steady performer at best. He's cover if he resigns, just like Byrne was at Stockport

A sad reflection on the club / owners for sure. It does appear that every applicant withdrew once they became aware of the new “ managing a team by committee” principle . That’s probably explains why they “sat on it” for weeks . They were left with just one applicant yet they have signed mediocre players meanwhile , selected by no body it seems . A pity because they were always well respected. . . Enough of them , but still sad to see.

Pretending football managers are infallible and get every single decision correct is akin to believing the government are always correct just because they're MP's and you aren't!

 

Much like when Edin was trying to persuade the great and the good to become our new manager and absolutely nobody wanted it and we ended up with Collins.

 

To add i don't mind the lad, not the worst centre back we've ever had. But to make a statement that he'd easily transition to league 2 has to be based on viewed evidence, the same viewing that tells me Jack Shepherd looks to have the game to do exactly that but something i haven't seen in Kelly.

 

Alexander also thinks Tommy Leigh can play centre forward so I'm not sure your logic stands up here.

 

This is very true
I've always liked Kelly and I also liked Platt, both solid, dependable league 2 defenders but whether either of them has what it takes to step up to league 1 is very much open to debate.

 

Talking of Kelly, (and Richards), I'm quite surprised we haven't had an announcement over the weekend about them either re-signing or rejecting our offer. I imagine if nothing is sorted yet either way, they'll still have to turn up for the start of pre season training today, given they're still contracted to us until the end of the month?

 

Kelly is okay defensively but one of the worst I've seen with the ball at his feet. For me he's easily upgradable and we should be doing so.

 

Back to training today. Do we reckon the likes of Smith, Oduor, Wilson have a shot? Or are we just waiting for the outgoing calls on those lads? Feels like GA has had enough time here now to know what he's going to get from them and they didn't pull up any trees in L2.

 

Smith, Odour and Wilson have to be gone.

I can't believe we signed these up on three year deals. Crazy stuff.

Time for Mr Sharpe to get proactive if GA sees them as surplus to requirements.

 

That was a bad summer and three months later we were 18th in the League.

 

All three will pick up clubs Smith did ok at Barrow Wilson will return to Wales and Odour is good enough to find a club there could be others on the move as well
