Summer 2025 transfer rumours

Only opinions as you say, but I don't think Tayo was better than Richards. He has great potential but for me didn't quite realise it. The form Richards was in before his injury he was more effective both going forward and in defence, and his link up play with Pointon was superb. Not knocking Tayo by the way. He has tremendous pace and great potential, but at the moment a fit Richards edges it for me.

 

Both have their qualities but Richards is our player...so he gets the nod for me. Rather develop him and lose for a decent fee than a loanee.

Touray incoming, Richards signing up, we wont be seeing Tayo anytime soon.

 

Having Richards and Tayo would be great. Tayo has amazing potential, he's quick and can get people up off their seats.

Richards, not a slouch but defensively is excellent. He can also go forward well too. I think we have a gem in Richards and would have been dissapointed if we'd not kept him. He seems to have a good attitude too.

Folk above have mentioned his injuries, but the main one is his shoulder. I believe he had an operation to rectify this?

 

He had a very stop/start first season with us as well and seemed to pick up various niggles that would keep him out for a few weeks. 22 league games last year, 26 the previous year, hopefully that pattern doesn't continue if he stays.

 

7 goals in 29 last term. Decent age at 21 but he will cost a fee. Not convinced we invest in potential at this stage.

 

Anyone know if Doyle has re-signed,and if so in what capacity,maybe I missed it.

 

I think any half decent forward will cost a pretty penny and maybe that's the one area rupp would fund

 

He’d cost and we cannot afford to invest on “ improvers” just yet. There are zero guarantees with Cooky which would leave us with Kav and an “ improver” ? Too big a risk in our first season back in L1 .

 

It would be keeper coach if anything. If he fancies his chances at another L1/2 club then he’s frankly deluded. Not heard anything re his acceptance of an offer OGF.

 

We never saw much of mellon , he didn't play much , but think he will do well for them getting advice from Billy Sharpe will help him

 

There’s a reason why we didn’t see him that much and I can see GA’s reasonable thinking. He wasn’t any better than Kav imho.

 

Ill never forget his late winner at Salford, however, didn't do anything else of note for us in a largely anonymous loan spell.

Whether he just didn't fit into our style of play, not so sure, but not bothered if he signs for a divisional rival club.

Personally think we need much better.

 

Absolutely Idle . Yes an important goal but little end product otherwise.

 

I thought he was ok and deserved a run. Kav has something. He is no target man but seems to be in the right place most times… we need another forward.

 

Probably up to four loans will be signed before kick off and the quality of those will probably define how we do

 

I'd say we need another 2. Starting L1 next year with 1 fit striker would be madness. That's assuming we offload Smith and Wilson

 

Whilst I acknowledge the loan market input, it would be great if we could sign a decent striker permanently

 

Id say Olly Sanderson and Mellon were pretty much on par.

 

Yes but I only see investment in the finished article. This kid aint that. I dont know much about him but Colchester knocked back Championship interest (probs with a view to loan out) in January. He wont be cheap IMO.

 

Not sure what he did well, his close control was average and he has no pace at all. I hope the lad makes it somewhere but he didn't show me anything to suggest he would.
