That Malarkey or however you spell his name has gone to Chesterfield, so another mild rumour to rule out.

 

Cracking signing at that level.

 

Signed on a 2 year deal 2023 with the option of a further year in the club's favour.

 

I’m a bit surprised he’s not even challenging himself in L1 Wilsden . Does that suggest he’s lacking confidence and just fulfilling his comfort zone by plopping for L2 .?

Went to Orient and struggled a bit I believe so maybe a case of returning to Chezzy and bringing his confidence back? Would’ve liked him personally

Markanday - think L2 is his level for now. Orient didnt put up a fight to keep him. Fell out of favour for last few games and only played 8 mins in the play offs.

 

Not sure, didn’t get much game time in the playoffs so maybe the suitors just weren’t there. I don’t think Chesterfield are skint either, so presumably they have made him their main signing and given him a decent wage.

 

Makes you wonder why we didn't do a walker then and sign him up regardless or will we do that if he does turn down the original offer down.

 

I suspect we have learnt from last season when Walker didn't look like he wanted to be here in pre-season and early in the season. If Richards is wanting to leave then best to let him go and negotiate a compensation fee with whatever club he was going to.

 

Richards may want to stay - may just want a deal comparative to some of his team mates and be paid what he feels he is worth.

Probably wagering how much the club values him. For me he aint a key player but is he is certainly an asset and a good season next season could see him worth a few bob.

Maybe …. the suitors had seen enough and left it to Chesterfield as there are ample L1 &2 clubs with far bigger budgets than Chesterfield so money wouldn’t be an issue to interested clubs.

 

They probably have but want to spread out the good news, rather than giving it all in one go, and potentially discussing a longer deal on the side

 

I think it’l be a left sided defender

I get the impression the majority of our attacking signings will be later in the window as they will primarily be loans
