It works for Man City selling kids to Ipswich and Burnley for £20m with a buy back but Palace and Brum wont be interested for a £250k fee. Its chicken feed.

 

Exactly the same anology I referred to yesterday. These wealthy clubs have zero need to release all their young players early . They can develop them themselves , with the aid of loans to decent clubs , and if they eventually pay off reap the rewards themselves rather then give the profit to others .

 

Yes. They only sell now if they dont see a future in the player. They may well accept a sell on clause in order for a lower fee but thats about as far as it goes.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Sam Cosgrove turn up as our new striker , he's on a free transfer and played at Wigan when Sharpe was there . He had a very prolific spell at Aberdeen but not rediscovered that form since.

True, but some clubs will genuinely look to smooth the path for a player and do what's right for their futures, so long as the club doesn't throw away future value.
