Well...

I may have mentioned that I waited 5 hours at my mum's care home to speak to her GP. I needed a medal professional to confirm that my mum lacks mental capacity. The GP agreed, but said she needed to talk to my mum first and as she is in the hospital it will have to wait until she gets out. Not ideal, but okay.

Go to see mum in the hospital today, get a message from a consultant on the way in that they need to talk to me urgently. Get there, ushered into a family room so I'm bracing myself, although I'd seen my mum so I knew she hadn't passed. They explained that they didn't think my mum has mental capacity and needed me to make quite a significant decision.

Every cloud...I still had the forms with me, could they sign. No, needs to be the GP.

They then asked about my power of attorney at the end of me making a decision. I confirmed I had it and actually I keep an electronic copy for just such a situation. Great they say. Two minutes later they decide they need to see the original. Because obviously there's a risk in all of this that I'm not who I say I am etc

Sauerkraut, smoked sausage, chicken,onion and a baking apple make for a very nice bigos (Polish huntsman stew). Give up on the soup. I can't master a mushroom soup either.

One of the nicest things I had in Seville was a tapa that was spinach with chick peas.

It tastes completely nothing like you'd expect it to and was really lovely. Would highly recommend you flying for 2.5 hours to try it. Also, while youre there you may as well have a beer.

It was a bit tame, considering it was supposed to be hot. But not bad.

9 handpulls? used to have a couple of pubs round here with that kind of reputation, beer wasn't up to much apparently

 

I'm not going to quality control the lot! But all are Yorkshire beers and the first one is decent enough.
