Holidaying in Spain

Lovely area. We seem to get out here every 2 years or so ober the last 10 years and we love it.

Tbf, it's noticeably quiet this year. We went to an Irish bar in the marina and they were saying its an easy 20/30% down on foot traffic that usual years. Storm last night but looks good going into next week.

 

Probably because you have to remortgage your house to travel with Jet2 these days.

 

It's quieter because the Spanish protests against tourism has come back to bite them on their arses. Serves them bloody right!
But we digress.

 

About as much chance as there is of you going through next week without saying "
Una cerveza por favor".

I also like Benalmadena. Lovely walking on the promenade there.

 

Visited Malaga, Granada and Fuengirola recently. Had an excellent time.
Flight cost less than £100 from LBA.

Right miserable bar stewards these mods. Can't even have a couple of posts going off track without them moving stuff around yet we can debate "Sparks is rubbish" or "Rupp needs to invest" on every bloody thread and now't happens with them posts.

 

Went to Seville last year, really enjoyed it. Perfect for a short break.

 

Watched the England vs Senegal second half there. Irish laughed at every goal we conceded whilst pretending not to notice that Luxembourg were bitching them the game!

Tbf even the Irish aren't out in full force as per usual. This is the 4th time in 10 years we've been in Benalmadena, usually mid June (last night was our wedding anniversary, tomorrow is my birthday so we always try get away to combine the two). The restaurants are still busy but the bars are so quiet its unreal.

 

When you look at the price of everything back home and for holidays can you really be that surprised ?
