Agree with alot of what you said but then you said lets speculate to accumulate, build fortress VP and we can consolidate in 14th-16th! We aint building any fortress as lower midtable fodder.

 

I’m looking at Rotherham last year. 8th in the home table, 19th in the away table. Overall a solid 13th. That’s the exact blueprint. Tough to beat at home, nobody turning up expecting to roll us over.

For what it’s worth, there’s plenty in the pot. Too much is being made of wages/budgets/finance.

 

I am just relaying what I’ve been told from someone very credible and I’ve seen first hand their relationship with someone very senior in the club. Why would they tell me this if there is not an element of truth in it?

Signings so far play into this thoughts it’s steady players who won’t break the bank. In my opinion the club have all there eggs in the basket of just staying up and dinning out on big home games against town, Cardiff etc. this is a dangerous strategy as a few tonkings and a perceived lack of ambition we are back to crowds of 11k who actually in the stadium.

 

At a complete guess, maybe they are a bit disgruntled for some reason about one player that didn't sign because of money and are extrapolating that out to mean everyone who says no is because of money when they don't really know all the circumstances.

People aren't robots, they don't always behave consistently. You've made your point so let's give it a month and see how the signings are shaping up and if there is any merit to your point.

Genuine question, is this very senior person at the club the same person your information was coming from last summer? Because back then, they were just a humble employee of the club so I'm wondering, is this a different person or have they had a massive promotion?

 

Whatever we wish our club is it isn't flushed with cash. We were never going to be able to afford "massive" signings and compete with the teams relegated from the championship and many of the L1 teams. What I want to see next season is the Bradford spirit. Hardworking, 100% effort, moments of skill, solid defending especially at home and we'll enjoy the ride. Year on year progressing or find a buyer who wants to splash the cash. May as well win the lottery on that one ! Who will be announced today?

 

That’s the point, he claims the club lack ambition for not paying a ridiculous salary to him. In my opinion there’s a difference between ambition and total reckless spending.

 

The club would not be divulging confidential information regarding budgets etc., to any ‘Tom, Dick or Harry’ for them then to feed this confidential information to other ‘Tom, Dick and Harry’s like yourself’ for them to broadcast it to a much wider audience.

 

Well maybe the person I know is embellishing somewhat then but what I can’t denie is that they have a really good relationship with someone at the club. But my point is what they are telling me is playing out in the signings so far.

This league is going to get harder and harder and we need to invest just to stand still. Some of the signings suggest we are happy to be here, fans come February I guarantee will be saying different and will demand more so hold me on that point.

 

When will these older players realise that their last hurrah demands are way over the top and need to cut their cloth, otherwise they could end up without a club at all.?

 

What you’re suggesting is exactly what Rahic did in 2018 when he overspent on some terrible signings and got the club in massive debt and relegated . We’ve brought in Joe Wright on I would imagine considerably less than the salary Matt Pearson was allegedly demanding and yet you would be willing the club to pay it to prove ambition. That is financial madness not ambition.

Slow and steady progression is the way . We signed lots of players in a top 6 budget the last time we were in this division and went down like a lead balloon .
Players that were over paid and turned out abject performances just like the over paid prima Donna’s who pulled on England shirts last night.
I want players that care and will fight for the shirt, not ones who will only sign if it’s £9000 per week

Nobody but them at the top know the budget and i really doubt we will be throwing big money at it anyhow ..............we finish nicely placed in midtable then i will be more than happy with it.

People need to realise the shit we have endured for the past 6 seasons ??????? And the goal should be to keep away from that level anything else is a bonus

 

I personally think some of our fans are over estimating League One. That's not to say we should under estimate it but I don't think we need pots of cash to compete - we aren't talking about the Championship here.

Tilt was an underwhelming signing IMO but Power and Wright come with a few miles left in the tank, plenty of experience and decent resumes. I am not sure which 'signings' show we are standing still?
