Finish 6th and that is a fantastic achievement, next season or any season.

That’s why I don’t get the city vent for putting these nonsense rumours out there about Wells. We don’t have the money for that quality so we are going down the experience league 1 plodders who will be getting there last-ish pay day. Sprinkles with some youth loans. It’s going to be long hard season in my opinion, we are misjudging this big time I hope am wrong.

 

We are not finishing 6th next season or any other season with the playing budget we have and the lack of transfers fees.

£6k will get some decent players for this division. A study in the 23/24 season said the average wage amongst the top 100 players was £7k a week.

My source who is really well connected can not stress that enough said we don’t have anyone even close to 6k (not inculding bonuses). We won’t break that structure.

I would imagine anyone would call it if you expect us to be paying £9000 a week. It would be financial madness.

 

We'll probably not be far off that for a new striker.
If we think our budget will be £5.5-6m, that is an average of £5k per week (approx) for a 22 man squad.
Defenders and Goalkeepers will be on less than that. You would expect a new striker to be not far off £9k a week.

The expectation from some is staggering we limped over the line literally it’s not like we bounced into promotion.

I can only suggest the ones clamouring for marquee signings are more based on their experience playing video games and not watching city

it’s a season to consolidate and we need experience to keep us up so the infrastructure can grow and possibly attract further investment

this wanting us to spend stupid money will be the first to say we wasted it and killed the club

time to realise where we are at ,we are actually a small club with lots of fans
