If we were looking at a player that had had a dozen cameo appearances in the last Premier League season, I think most would be pretty happy.

Scott Banks is very highly thought of at St.Pauli, but as you say, he hasn't been able to force his way into the team this season. Bearing in mind that, for example, they only lost 3-2 against Bayern Munich when they were still needing points to win the league, it's a pretty high bar.

I'm sure he will move on this Summer, because St.Pauli are looking to kick on after unexpectedly staying up last season. I think he'll end up in the Championship.

 

Am i alone in thinking that Kelly isn't that bad of a defender?

His worse games came when he was partnered on the left by Tyreik Wright, who at that point looked like he was having as much fun as a nun in strip joint, but i didnt actually mind Kelly.

He is a solid, nonsense defender. Likes a tackle, gets stuck in and doesn't lose that many aerial duels.

He does what he is supposed to, yes his positioning may need a bit of work and his distribution can be haphazard but as far as his job description goes, IE defender , he does his job.

to be honest, i couldnt care less if my centre half cant play a twenty yard pass as long as he helps stop the ball going in our net.

I have less kittens with Kelly aiming it long down a channel, than i have with Baldwin trying to turn on to his right foot the edge of the area and try place a cute pass into pattison.

 

I think he's really improved. He looked an absolute beast last season.

 

If we could get Kavannagh to take all the penalties and we somehow end up with him with sitting on 12 goals by christmas, we may have prosperous january

 

He does exactly that....goes in where others might not, I like him...

 

It would be an incredible signing, but if you Google what he's on salary wise (it's probably not correct) but do the maths and it would be £32,500 a week. So it's not going to happen, I can see Wrexham having a go for him though.

I don't see any scenario in which Wells chooses us.

He has an offer from Bristol and likely other Champ/higher end L1 teams, as much as I'd like to see it happen.

 

I'm a big fan of Kelly. Absolutely no nonsense and will put any and every part of his body on the line.

Think Luongo is more likely, but unlikely. Similar age, good Championship experience and released.

 

Yeh they could probably offer 10k a week. He has a connection with them as well....not just us.

 

11 games in the premier league last year. Don't think a div 1 team (not Udders) can afford him.

 

11 games in top flight football isn't good enough anyway.....we cant be signing cast offs.

 

Unfortunately I have to agree, even if Nahki received an offer of a 12 month extension from Bristol City I'd think it would dwarf any offer we could make him.

 

Only way we have a chance is he is the top earner, gets a very healthy goal bonus and a huge bonus if he takes us up to the Championship. But thats even a massive stretch and would rely on sentiment. Maybe in 12 months time if the stars allign.

 

Young Luongo was a really good player for Swindon. I thought it really funny that though they had the best team in the division, their manager was so wrapped up with the dark arts, they missed out on promotion.

 

I've always liked him. Only issue is he sees to be very stop and start in terms of injuries and niggles.

 

Liked him when on loan , since he’s signed on to a deal , far less so .
