Very sad news, that's a really tough one to hear.

Rest in peace Roger, AKA WetherbyWhaler, you will be sadly missed on here where you contributed a great deal in a situation many wouldn't.

Thoughts go out his to friends and family that will miss him so much more.

RIP Roger. Missed the useful insight into the club and missed your input into the forum recently. One of the great things I enjoy is the spectrum of views, from the sublime to the ridiculous and yours was a voice of reason that many took notice of. Very sad news.

Shocked and saddened. He offered a good insight and although he had strong views (don’t many of us), he always came over as reasonable person. I will really miss his input to Bantam Talk. Clearly Roger was City through and through.

That's very sad news regarding Roger, aka Wetherbywhaler. Condolences to his family.

Whilst I didn't always agree with his views on the running of the club, he was respectful towards those who shared different opinions. That was alwsys appreciated. RIP Roger.

Thats a shock to hear and sad news, we usually never know who is the poster behind the keyboard and if we do where they are in life, what they have going on, life is like a box of chocolates someone famous once said.

Roger always seemed like a proper gentleman and clearly a true fan with claret and amber running through his veins. RIP

    RIP Roger.

    Condolences to his family.

Sad news indeed. Used to provide some really good insight into club matters and I especially liked his thoughts on how he defended some of our red card incidents and fan misbehaviour!!

    RIP.

He usually sits with his mates who have been his life long friends just Infront of the press area but with it being the last game him and Lena sat in the directors area just behind us, when the final whistle went me and the grandson had a hug then I went and had a word with Roger, although I could see he was buzzing like the rest of us Roger always kept his composure, so we just shook hands.
I known at times on the forum he may have come across as aloof but I can assure you when you got to know the guy he was sound, I remember during one of our meetings we were talking about his position at Morrisons, and his close attachment to both Jack Tordoff and Ken Morrison one time saying " I've not done bad for a lad from Wibsey" as I've posted he was great company as he was like myself caught young (around the late 50s) and had Claret & Amber running though his veins, so we reminisced at times about the good (mainly bad) old days but you couldn't wish for a more dedicated Bradford City fan and although we weren't that close he was always happy to talk Bradford City and will be missed.

I haven't posted on here for ages but, having just heard the sad news about Roger, I knew there'd be a thread on here.

I got to know Roger through my early days of supporting City and used to meet up every match day with him, his dad, and his friends in the old Paddock, in front of the main stand. Even then, it was obvious Roger had something about him and would carve out a successful career for himself. It was a pleasure to be in his company those Saturday afternoons.

After a short break from watching City, I then met up with other friends, standing in the Kop, and lost regular contact with him. However, I used to see Roger occasionally, round and about Bradford and he was always his same old cheery self. His love for City was obvious as it formed the topic of most of our converations.

I am saddened to learn of his passing. He was a fine bloke, a real gentleman, who's mood never changed and told it exactly as it was.

My condolences got to Lena and the family.

    RIP Roger

I've travelled to lots of away games by train over the years.

I saw Roger many times and always found him a real gentleman.

My daughter passed away 2 years ago.

She was an Arsenal Ladies fan and a City fan.

So that's another Bantams fan in heaven.
