Where's @Goose and @Tolly856 now when they said I was talking BS about us signing two players before the weekend this week maybe my outside source is on the money so much for attention seeking.

 

It's coming together a bit now, still some gaps where we need that bit better quality (given everyone signs a new deal).

 

It’s hardly groundbreaking news, especially given that the club had already confirmed one signing and the Joe Wright rumours have been circulating for a while. Anyone can throw out a bunch of vague, not so interesting rumours, get a couple right and claim to be ITK. The reality is though is that you know nothing, and you should stop pretending that you do.

If they all quality signings and not kids to make up the numbers/back ups then im very happy. And thats providing Kelly and Richards sign up.

I think we bring in 2 strikers, one a loan to cover depth as Cook wont be fit for a good few months yet. I'd like another attacking mid too to be honest, Sarces L1 numbers are crap compared to L2, Lapslie only had brief L1 experience, Leigh similar. Would prefer a pacey option who has played L1 before.

Not convinced with Wright being a LWB option either really, especially if Richards leaves.

 

It may depend if Richards signs. He could cover at LCB and LWB. I feel we're still short by one. Maybe last season was bad but we really suffered with injuries to defenders.

 

I just dont see Alexander working with those numbers. I suppose there could be players leave but 3 LWBs and 5 AMs...im not convinced.

2 more strikers yeh, if Smith can be sold. But I only see 1 coming in unless we can shift him on.

 

Leigh and Lapslie are bench warmers at best. As @JonButterfield alluded to I'd like to see a couple of young prospects brought in, players who have a bit of potential rather than at the arse end of their career.

 

Smith will want out, he wont get time in L1. I supposes it's what does he class Wright as too? Richards needs cover, the lad gets injured far too often to be trusted.

Whatever we target next, i'd prefer them to be early 20s now. Stocked up with 30+ guys, could do with some youth.

 

I struggle to see Leigh making the bench really. Lapslie has played deeper before so i guess he might make squads as he can cover areas.

Yeah we need to find some youth at this point.

 

I actually thought Leigh playing deep made a difference against Fleetwood

 

I'd be very surprised if Leigh isn't used far more than last season, paying a transfer fee for a bench warmer won't go down well for a League One team.

 

Moving Shepherd up top was the game changer, until then we didn't win much in the air, if nothing else he gave the Fleetwood defenders a problem.

 

I hope not Park , the ex Hudders lad Pearson as well !

 

I struggle to see Smith making the Squad, all 25/6 of em?

 

Weirdly, he seems like he might be better suited to L1. Games will be a bit quicker, bit more technical and a bit less physicality might suit him a bit better but i suppose it al depends on the pre-season.
