GA said something last season about Baldwin being a key part of how he sees us playing from the back so I'd have him down as a starter if fit (oh and not suspended... )

Rumour from a town supporting associate (I say that because I find it hard to class them as a friend). Anyway, he reckons they've signed Paudie and it will be announced tomorrow.

 

Never liked him

 

We're kinda close with a relation to the Paudie household. As of last winter from a chat me and the wife had, they were trying everything to get the deal sorted in Jan window and for one reason or another it flopped. I was told there were 2 Champ teams talking. It was Preston leading the way and I think Coventry but that's a "trying to remember a chat in December" link. Anyway, it never materialised and they went back to square one in Feb. I'm guessing they wanted a Preston/Cov to try again and it's not gone through?

 

Although Lincoln fans seem to think Paudie is off to Blackpool?..... how many central defenders do they want?!

 

They lost Offiah and Baggott who returned to parent clubs and Pennington is in dicussions. Potentially 3 CBs gone there, so signed 3 as replacements.

We will sign 3 possibly 4 this summer. Horsfall, Ihiewke and Paudie are 3 very sound signings.

 

Maybe there's been some pipping at the post? All I'll say about this 'associate' of mine is his source seems very reliable because whenever he's mentioned other potential Town signings to me over the past couple of years, they've pretty much all come off.

I work in Sheffield. A colleague who’s a Rotherham fan has just told me that they are after Smallwood. That’s an interesting situation.

 

Stockport, Blackpool and a "host of other" L1 clubs are talking to Ethan Williams from Man United for a loan deal. He's a winger/attacking mid, might not be an area we thought we'd be looking at, but i wonder if we are one of the host of others? Hibs linked too, so even if we are we're probably not top of the queue.

 

7 clubs linked with Smallwood apparently. The more I think about it the more puzzled I become about us allowing him to leave.

Might be seeing Sam Stubbs next season. He has turned down Cheltenhams offer and they believe he is L1 bound.

 

This sounds like a kop out but I think we'll have to wait until we see the full squad to draw a conclusion because something has clearly changed GA's mind.

Now, that could mean that, similar to other players, he's just decided he's had enough and doesn't like him any more, or it could mean that he's had a long think and wants to make a change or doesn't think Smallwood is up to it or what is needed for us in league one. Until we get more signings in, I feel it's hard to conclude one way or the other.
