That's my thinking too. There's no way he comes in as the LCB and we keep Kelly who is like 27 and certainly isn't a kid learning his craft anymore.

Tilt will be the middle of a back 3 , he is far better than shepherd , he has more pace than Byrne kelly and Baldwin it's just his age that's a bit of a problem but he's definitely a upgrade on what we have at moment

 

Where is this "pace" thing coming from? Looking at any Salford clip from our matches or things that you can find online, he looks like he runs in slow motion?

But 20's, gazelle forwards in Div 1 hhhmmmmm not so sure

 

I'll wait until I see him in person, but from the clips online he looks like he is on the slower end. I mean, Tommy Leigh who sprints like Hanson used to moved past him with ease in one of them.

Blackpool just signed Fraser Horsfall. That’s the sort of signing we’d have liked. 28 yr old in his peak.

 

I worry that may be based on days gone yore.

It's surprising how often intelligent managers base assessments on the past.

McCall re-signing Gilly and calling him a winger was mind boggling.

 

An underwhelming signing in my opinion. However, if this is followed up with Pearson and Shepherd, (who are likely to be further down the line IF signed due to other interest, negotiations…) and Tilt was a back up option then I’d look at this signing in a different light.

It’s not the punchy, headline grabbing signing that I had hoped would follow up the release of our captain and POTY yesterday.

There’s a long way to go this summer, however I’m hopeful that this signing is the least spectacular of our signings this summer and that those that follow are able to be chalked up in the column marked ‘ambitious/quality’.

 

We can’t afford to beat CC and top L1 clubs otherwise our whole budget would go on one player?. If the riches of Stockport can’t afford him, then we are kidding ourselves we could compete for his autograph. Sense prevailed.

I’m not bothered about headline signings I am bothered about players of any age who can contribute to the team as a whole. We have lost a valuable one this week but I hope we have signed one
