Summer 2025 transfer rumours

So…. What decent league 1 and 2 DMs are available on a free or ones we could realistically pay for?

 

I’d be going straight after Cameron Antwi at Newport.

 

The comments I've seen on X are fans asking for Ossama Ashley, Kamil Conteh and Dean Campbell. Just don't know if we can do any better than that...

Rumours that we are one of a few league 1 clubs chasing Dean Campbell from Barrow, 24 year old defensive midfielder who made his debut for Aberdeen as a 16 year old. I think he was Barrow's captain.

 

Conteh is the lad that Grimsby had and ran us ragged in 23/24 .

Wonder if we are in for former Sheff Weds CB Michael Ihiekwe. There was a think a few weeks back saying a host of L1 clubs are after him, Sheffield star say they know of Port Vale, Blackpool & Huddersfield interest in him, guessing the agent is feeding info to keep his name out there.

 

Hope not, he looked really ropey against us last season. Turning 34 too in August after an up and down spell at Salford, would be a weird move? You'd think if we are bringing in an experienced defender, it would be someone coming down the pyramid?

Unfortunately, that account seems to be fairly accurate in the past and it is followed by some legit transfer reporters. Shit.

 

Two that are improbable but not impossible...

Massimo Luongo, 32, Ipswich - can't imagine he was on massive money as jumped through the divisions with Ipswich, and will no doubt need to take a wage cut. Played a bit of League 1 football for various teams so he isn't above dropping to that level, that said probably Championship teams in for him.

Adam Forshaw, 33, Blackburn - played a lot for Plymouth and Blackburn last season but released, you would think L1 is his level now. Ex Middlesbrough, ex Wigan.....

 

I know, they've already got a fair few right this summer. Hope to god this isn't one of them.

It will be him, fits the bill, old and cheap. Signing announced tonight and forget about Shepherd coming back or Matt Pearson coming.

 

Have you watched him ? ( Quite a few times last season) Jesus he’s as slow as Canavan .
