Interesting re-reading the earlier comments on the thread. He certainly is a joy to watch and made a massive input when fit.

 

In terms of what actually happened.

a) was he shown a yellow card for taking his shirt off (it is not a red card offence to take your shirt off.
b) if he didnt nothing can happen (see point e)
c) if he did give the the yellow card then the next consideration is did the ref show him the red card (probably not).
d) if the red card has not be shown then he wasnt sent off.
e) because the original incident was only a yellow card offence, the fa rules state it can not be reviewed , appealed by the player or FA.

 

Its alright, he will probably be injured at the start of the season anyhow, so any possible ban will be negated.

 

He’d already been booked hadn’t he? ! Two yellows is a sending off . Perhaps I’m wrong?

 

He was the first player of the game to be booked for a late tackle in the first half.

 

But did the ref give him yellow for the shirt - to be honest I cant remember whether he did or did not given the confusion that raged at the time. Everybody is assuming he did.
Then did he show the red card - nobody is clainmng to have seen that. If he didnt then it is down to referee mistake. And since the match continued and finished it stands as it is.

That’s why people are referring to a red .Alredy booked and assumed he was also book for the shirt = red . Only one confirmed so the rest is irrelevant .

 

Think the issue for us will be that 2 pitch invasions took place during the game, thereby halting play. Not totally sure on this point, don't think that happened anywhere else? End of season pitch invasions are commonplace but most take place after the final whistle.
Fully expecting us to be hit with a hefty fine, but probably no more than that.

He wouldn't have abandoned it, but I suppose a possibility of clearing the stadium of fans and playing the last minute out with no fans present.

In the end the ref did the right thing and handled the situation very well.

 

I watched the Antoni Sarcevic podcast on You Tube and was impressed by the interviewer. We learn a lot about Antoni.
He admits to being a moaner at training, has interesting comments about the young players - Bobby and Kav and is unsure of his future when his current City contract expires.

 

Some of those podcasts are v good . I enjoyed the jagger one especially .

 

I agree, it's far better than the bland interviews on the City website or with local journalists.

Always enjoy the press conferences and post match interviews with Jamie Raynor, but the official club interviews are hard work.

 

It was superb that one. I was drinking in every detail. Some of the stories about Geoffrey Richmond!
