I believe it's more to do with the club's offer than the player chasing money

 

I suspect they may have made an offer dependent on appearances, which he is unhappy with.

 

Should we sell Cook? He is getting on a bit and does not seem to adjust to having a playmate with him in the centre of the pitch. The team at the end of last season found a way of different people coming through and scoring, whereas with Cook we just had no idea other than bang it into the box for him to score. Perhaps we could get a reasonable sum for him at the moment but if he comes back and plays poorly will be just a hanger on.

 

He will be 38 this year, so any offer has to be stacked on appearances/ availability
Most clubs at our level are not awash with money so they have to spend wisely

No one is going to pay anything for a player Cooks age coming back from an ACL injury
We just have to hope he comes back and doesn’t suffer a breakdown and that he is close to the Andy Cook we had before

 

Maybe it’s a low offer
But at 37 and his career, you would think money would be well down the list
Most players have retired by this age
I certainly wouldn’t want to take a punt on him
If I was a manager. Too risky no matter how good he has been

 

The rumours are that he's off to MK so it looks like they are going to be the big spenders in lesgue 2 this season with bringing in Paul Warne as manager and they've bought Mendez-Laing from Derby
