The pkayer wasn't good enough ro warrant more game time! We can't just play them because their parents club may get upset.
If he was good enough he'd have got more game time.

Is the groundsman involved in management meeting now?

Integral part in the premier league
He has to know which way the grass should grow , depending on which players they are signing
    Very technical stuff these days.

I am just passing on what I was told at the time and for the record Barry (groundsman) had a very good relationship with Kompany and Craig Bellamy so got to know quite a bit. Also just to add more context one of the members of the team at Burnley under Barry is a massive City fan.

Is he any good playing up front as a lone striker
Can he cover for Cook and then cut the grass and mark the pitch out after the game.

Think Barry is way past being a footballer these days although he wasn't bad back in the day. His 13 year old son (my lads mate) isn't a bad player though plays for district.

    Ledson signs for Huddersfield....

[IMG] We are delighted to confirm the signing of midfielder Ryan Ledson, who will join the Club on a free transfer from Preston North End effective 1 July 2025!

Have a look what Preston are saying. They're delighted he got released and can't understand how he played so many games.

Obviously dropping down a level should help but I imagine there'll be big expectations of him given he's come from the championship so he could be under pressure right from the off.

That is very hard to do these days thanks to the Premier League and them blackmailing EFL clubs into accept EPPP which basically means the Premier League clubs in category 1 and 2 can take whoever they want from category 3 clubs so any half decent player especially striker will be taken by the time they are 14 so it is nearly impossible to develop players. It is almost made even harder now that category 3 club like city can only recruit players within a 90 minute radius whereas category 1 clubs like West Ham can recruit nationally so when looking for players City are having to compete with local clubs plus a number of category 1 clubs like Man Utd and West Ham.
Running a category 1 or 2 academy is very expensive so unless you are a club like Colchester who prioritise the academy over the first team with funds it is financially not viable for a lot of teams.

That’s why they are perpetual non achievers? Always skint and reliant on the owners business to keep them afloat ?
The best option is a balance , however the Prem will always stall improved payments to lower league clubs because they can’t afford to Academise and keep young players . It’s a win win for them and lose lose for us in the sense we can’t develop our own properly .

Category 1 running costs are normally £2.5m - £5m and category 2 are £1m - £2m with category 3 300-500k so for us to move up would be at least double what it is costing us now and with a category 2 academy we'd need an u21 side which takes away from the 1st team.
For next season there's going to be 28 Category 1 academies and it's not surprising that all apart from Derby, Reading and Birmingham have been in the Premier League in the last 10 years. This is the list of cat 1 academies from the start of the season with Birmingham & Burnley to be added for next season.

Thank you, it puts clarity on what we all know in our heart of hearts , it’s heavily stacked in the PL favour.

His agent is wasted in football. How has he convinced someone to agree to that deal?

Is 9 league goals in 38 games successful? Im pretty sure if our next striker signing comes in with that record we wont be rolling over and shitting mars bars.
