I agree. Exactly the player we've needed for a couple of seasons.

He was great in that first leg at Orient. Could have had a hat trick of headers from corners.

 

Re Pearson, I was talking to a couple of friends who are Luton Town fans, they said if we sign him, Sonny Bradley won't be far behind him.

 

Shepherd, Bradley and Horsfall would be fantastic signings in my opinion.

 

You’d expect Palace to take a long look at the squad depth in the pre-season, now knowing they have to navigate European football. Sure they will look at the success of West Ham and take learnings how they navigated the tournament together with PL diary. All this said, I still don’t think Tayo is quite at the level they will need so expecting him to be available close to the start of the season, unless he’s released sooner.

I really, really like him. He’s the kind of player I turn up to watch and therefore would be very happy if we are able to resign him, maybe even on a permanent.

 

Is the Horsfall thing a rumour or wishful thinking

 

Would anyone take a punt on Reece Oxford? Set to leave Augsburg but has barely played for 2 years. Depending on his fitness and attitude he would be a huge coup at this level and I can't see many teams above this level willing to take the risk

 

I reckon @Interested Bystander might have a good insight into him.

 

I think he would be a gamble too far, he's not played a game at any level since March 2023 and his injuries haven't been limited to 1 type. He's had various muscle injuries and other illnesses some of which have been linked to long Covid so hard to see how he gets a run of games going in the season.

 

Reads like a classic case of lost potential.

Dubbed a superstar too early and with circumstances then stacking themselves against him, including fitness issues, his career has faltered.

I would let someone else take the gamble this time.

 

I remember his debut. Had Ozil (I think) in his pocket. Looked a real class act.

 

As many have said a wasted talent. I was at the Emirates for his debut and at 16 he "owned" midfield, I've never seen a kid directing team mates and calling them out when needed. Too much too soon and not particularly well advised by agents. There were always rumours about his mates and their activities.
I was certain he was destined for the top, but it only takes one injury early to impact the rest of a career.

I’d give him one too to protect ourselves plus “options” . A bargaining chip will hopefully be a decent sell on clause to Barnsley?

 

I think striker area is where we need reinforcements most for next season especially with cook likely to be injured for start of season. Are there any realistic options been released by clubs out there (Wells isn't realistic for me) or we gonna have to risk a unknown loan or go pay money for someone?
