He had supposedly signed up to play for Plymouth in a 7v7 tournament in America in June. Article was from the end of March.

 

Has he been in Peaky Blinders?

 

Yes I included Sarcevic but not Bobby because I don’t use him as an example of a midfielder , as he could play there and not be as effective as Sarcevic . That the only reason , primarily because Bob would get bullied , Sarcevic wouldn’t imho.

 

He’s not a very good interviewer and his voice isn’t very clear imho.

 

Yes I agree - the club really needs a more experienced person on media duties. I can’t watch the club interviews any more - I tend to stick with Jamie on Radio Leeds for club output rather than the official channels.

 

Obvious but Alexander makes Power the new captain.

I think you are right RT. It was obvious , he’s going to play more games than Sarcevic ( The only other contender) and has captained at multiple promoted clubs.

 

I think it was the obvious choice too.

Power has plenty of captaincy experience with Sunderland and Wigan amongst others.

The more I think about it too, I think Power is the replacement for Smallwood, not only as captain, but role in the team too.

Metcalfe the obvious replacement for Khela.

Not sure whether still pursuing a loan signing, if so, be interesting to know which position.

 

We've signed a few leaders such as Joe Wright and Curtis Tilt but Power stands out, comes across well in interview and as you say will play every game if available.

 

We have to be more than happy with midfield surely so it’s either one of the back three , or a powerhouse up top .?

We lose Sarcevic and/or Pattison and we're short again. Loan must be a central midfielder IMHO.

 

If you are happy with the defensive three options then ok ?

 

There are plenty of options, assuming both are guaranteed starters. On the surface you have Lapslie and Leigh who we paid fees for only a few months ago.

But I see Power, Pattison and Metcalfe fighting for 2 shirts and been rotated. With Leigh there too. Then Bobby, Humphrys and Sarcevic fighting for 2 shirts with Lapslie, Wright and even Swan perhaps - more so when Cook is back.

Plenty of options in the squad, its pretty dynamic. We have about 5 or 6 looking likely unavailable for Wycombe but 2 or 3 will still be sat in the stands after missing out on a shirt.

 

Well here we go on Saturday. No sign of any further signings but that has been the case all the way through since the end of last season.

I am most definitely waiting a few weeks to see how they perform. We have until the end of August to bring footballers in if we need too.

I stopped going to friendlies a few seasons back as they didn’t really inform you of how a squad would perform.
