Walker had the chance of a 2 year deal, extra security and one would assume a nice pay increase now we are in L1. Instead he opted to talk to other clubs and force the club to trigger his current deal for an extra year. Now he is out of the door and looking for a new club - that's on him and nobody else. His wife needs to shut her trap.

 

Yes man management is extremely important to any business, but we have no evidence that he has been treated badly, just the ramblings of his wife
The reason he was not offered another deal or was unable to hold down a position in the team , where his performances had fallen away

Well as I said, neither of us know what went on in his contract negotiations, and rightly so. But I felt at the time it wasn't handled well, nothing to do with what his wife might be saying today. What has she said by the way? I don't do twitter. Anyway it's best for both parties now that he moves on, let's just hope we replace him with better. I've yet to see Tommy Leigh match even a poor Jamie Walker performance, but I remain open minded and hope Tommy comes good next season.

 

Big loss for us losing Walker, always rated him and he is our current top assist. best of luck to him for the future

Ditch S Walker, Mr Calamity, one penalty save and one stop doesn't make up for a season of putting pressure on his defence especially in the last 5-10 games

 

If we can move Oduor, Smith and Wilson on that will give us a good base of a squad to build around.

 

Not sure where you get that from. He's a solid, lower league keeper. Yes he will make the odd mistake, and whilst I'm not saying it's a position we couldn't upgrade on, it's by no means number 1 priority imo.

 

Good to see two of the younger players with an option.
Assume with Kelly, Smallwood and Richards we’re going for more than the 1 year option.
Huntingdon is an interesting one-maybe thinking player coach role?
Assume Doyle is for a coaching role

 

I don't disagree

It's easy to draw conclusions from the celebrations we saw where people were genuinely happy. What I was observing was interactions between the manager and players at the ends of games, substitutions and general demeanor when they came on as subs. Not interested in making a big thing out of it as it's just observations and could be completely wrong

This post is guaranteed a like from @NorthernMonkey, in fact two likes I also agree, It was never comfortable during the run in with the lad in the side, maybe harsh but just an honest opinion.

 

Generic point is true, but doesn't change the relativity of the situation.

We handled Jamie poorly.

 

I’d of maybe offered Johnson 6 months. If as just reported he’s been fit and available for 6 months, a pre season behind him. There was a player in there.

 

We will never know the exact goings on
But he was never frozen out of the picture like players at some clubs
I liked Jamie and his performances for the club and told him so on Sunday
It’s time to move on though
