Clearly he didn't get the contract/move he wanted in the summer. The club was perfectly within its rights to take up the option it had for the extra year.

Players throughout the land are in and out of favour with different managers
Unfortunately Jamie turned down the new offer last season, forcing the one year extension
Non of us know the terms of the new contract offered, but it was understood to be less money but guaranteed for 2 years
He could now be looking at 12 months in league 1 with possible promotion bonuses and built in increases.
It could be the next club he joins, offers less than he is currently on
    Hindsight
He has been a great servant to the club, even though a little less this season and I wish him well, but time to move on

I wouldn't read much into it. It's not usual for partners of footballers to vent on social media about how a clubs unfair when contracts end

I'm glad I don't do other social media, maybe an age thing but if it was me and I found my wife giving her opinion of things that won't help Jamie going forward ( no matter if they are true or otherwise) we'd be having words.
Let your husband's talking on the field be the only indicator of his ability/career.
I've never had the privilege of meeting/talking to Jamie but know some who have and he comes across as a very genuine guy who from his comments posted by @Silverbantam@Silverbantam he loved being at Bradford City, unfortunately you don't get time to live on past performances, without doubt he was a player who could change a game with one piece of magic unfortunately I'm not as yet convinced Alexander likes a rebel (meant in the nicest way) who doesn't seem to be able to do 90 minutes on a regular basis ?.

Yeh, I've seen a lot of hysterical wives posting on behalf of their husbands. A lot is fueled on the loss of £££ and not understanding how football works.

I have no reason to doubt that account of happenings. Even from afar he didn't look like we were treating him very well.

We will never know the detail of the contract discussions with Jamie but I do get the feeling it could have been handled/ managed better.

He was being payed £1000’s per week for doing a job most of us would pay to do
He was not being forced down the coal face for 2 and 6 a week
Players fall in and out of favour, form and from the team weekly

Injury prone and didn't score enough goals, but always gave 100%
It's time for the club to move on.

Can't disagree with any of that Andy, but running your own business you understand the importance of man management and managing expectation. I just get the feeling this could have been handled better ( but being honest I know no more about what went on than anyone else ).

I do think I see this from those outside the team and it's easy to say 'players want to play and are unhappy when they are not' but I'm yet to be convinced that Alexander is good at motivating/encouraging those outside the team. They often seem unhappy.

Jay Benn is next with the social media essay. So far we’ve got Crichlow, J Walker and Benn out the door. Who’s next?

Really? I’d say we have the most together bunch since Parky. To me that sounds like Alexander is a good man manager

Whatever GA did, he got us over the line. Many have failed before him.

I'd play for City for 2/6 p, no one likes to hear these sort of stories as fans we like to think players want to play for Bradford City for all the things Jamie has commented on but in the real world it's all about money.
Look at Trent Alexander-Arnold yesteryear if you were good enough to play for Liverpool it was a one club career (especially a born Scouser) why would he want to play in a league that only has 3 at best contenders to win La Liga, I get the pull of a CV with Real Madrid on it maybe it's the city of Madrid and the weather but ultimately IMO its got to be about money.

We offered Jamie a longer contract, probably with a promotion increase, but on less a week. He didn't accept it and wanted to move, but we triggered the deal in his original contract, which he was happy to sign (the original deal I mean). He had every right to reject it, just as we had every right to offer it to an ageing player with a poor injury record. His wife would be better off leaving alone. There is no one to blame here; leave on good terms and say I probably should have accepted the two-year deal, but hindsight is a wonderful thing. Not everything needs to have a good and bad guy in it.

For me, the club have done the right thing, although I have a lot of respect for Jamie and hope he has a good and productive end to his career.

I agree about the current team spirit, and also think we need better players for next season. The real trick for GA is maintaining that togetherness next season after the departures. I might be totally wrong, but I don't get the feeling that, for example, Sarce and Pattison, are as invested in the club as Walker was. Just my opinion and might be totally wrong
