Wendy have a 1 year option on him. Top scorer so could easily trigger and get a decent fee if he wants out. Rumoured wage is £15k a week.

Wrexham or Hull written all over it if he leaves. He only comes to City when he is 35+ and on the scrapheep.

As I have just said on the other thread Pearson would be the ideal replacement for Huntington experienced head that we will require in defence and several years younger. No brainer for me on that.

Huntington is exactly the type of player I'd keep for another year, excellent experience, good around the dressing room and can still contribute in a bit part capacity. Given our injuries over the last 12 months to CBs he'd be worth a 1 year deal

 

Think i saw that Salford have 10 players under contract at the minute and 3 of those had options triggered. Starting fresh with their new cash! Rumour is that Nathan Smith, the Vale captain and "one of their own" is leaving the club on a free this summer to sign for Salford, but Tranmere linked too.

 

I'd love Wells back but pigs will fly before he returns.

He's not giving up 25k a week (accepting it'll be reduced when his contract ends) wages at Bristol to come sign for us in 5/6k in some sort of grand homecoming.

I agree it's no chance. Didn't the Bristol press de-bunk that Wells £25K claim like a year or two back? Somethings buzzing round the back of my head for when the yearly financials are released and Bristols highest earner I'm guessing it was 2023 was a bloke on £18k a week and it wasn't Wells. Their average was just over £16,000 a week from the looks of their 2023 books. Reckon Wells would be roughly on that but he'll hold out for a champ offer to try match somewhat like what he was on, rather than taking a two thirds cut in L1 with someone. He's 35 next month, it's probably his last deal so he'll probably try wait for the best deal on the table.
