A goodbye?.....

 

He was always a gonner. Can’t get in the team in league 2 so why would we offer him another deal. All the best Jamie

 

The lad can leave with his head held high, always gave everything on the field and lovely fella off it.

 

also wish him well has been a top pro, imo we are going to have to be really ruthless in recruitment or we will be straight back down. We finished on 78 points, a pretty low total for an autos place.

 

Jamie Walker for me deserves huge credit for his City career. Rarely have I seen a lad work so hard and tirelessly, and while this season wasn't his personal best in a City shirt, some of his displays were invaluable.

He's right up there with Garry Thomson and some other lads who were superb despite not being first name on the team sheet. We would be far worse off if Walker had never signed for us.

 

Top professional Jamie, always gave 100% and clearly loves the club.
Think it was the second game I took my son to (and probably the first one my son will remember as I was a bit too keen to take him the first time, when he was about 2), was Stevenage away, so I'll always remember his goal there, our third and won us the game, and his jubilation after we equalised against Birmingham this season.

 

Bought into the cause as much as any player I've seen at the club. It's not just turning up every week, it's understanding who we are and being proud to represent us. A lot of others could learn from this.

 

He just seemed to “get” the club.

So many players on decent wages seem to be just after the brass.
He seemed genuinely affiliated to the team,the fans and the area.

Wished he’d played more as he was real quality when he played.

Will always receive a decent reception if he ever returns.

 

I think we may regret this.

 

Fair play to him. Fantastic role model for the club. Would give him a firm handshake and wish him well if I was to meet him.

My nap is Carlisle. Nearly signed for them last summer and Hughes there so gotta be possible. Location be good for him too.

He may still think he can do a job at L2 level so might not be interested but money comes first at his age I guess.

 

Kian Best is a left back/left wing back.

Supposedly a very good crosser of the ball. 19 years old. Not seen any commentary on how good of an athlete he is, though, but their fans seemed to want him loaned out to League One for a proper test, so... would seem like a very appropriate signing unless we have an experienced pro lined up.

Location wouldn’t be good for him. Jamie and family really settled in the area and do not want to move.

Harrogate would be ideal for him.

Wherever he goes, I wish him all the very best. My favourite player over the last 3 years.

He seemed to really understand our club and reminded me of Don Hutchins in that respect. An outsider to the city who settled here and was always happy to mix with fans away from the football.

He was stood with Ian Cooper, who was my neighbour when I was a kid
Both nice chaps didn’t recognise Don with his balding head. Stile see him with those long flowing locks charging down the wing

 

Fair enough. Suppose it will come down to numbers though as this will be his last decent contract given his age. He still has a few years left in the tank but not many. I can see Carlisle offering a good package (they have cash) and the type of player they need to get back into the NL.

Dont forget, he held talks with them just 12 months ago....but yeh, Harrogate would be a better fit.

 

Looks like Richie is keen for a new deal....thats a good start. As long as the numbers add up for him and the Club wants to retain (which im 99% sure they will), we should see a new deal announced shortly.
