Released List

Won’t be done until they’re back from Ibiza.

 

I am sure I read somewhere that GA is talking to the players on Tuesday. Soon after that I expect.

 

I think it was also said to be next Tues / Wed .

 

From the T&A yesterday, the 'transfer committee' will meet on Monday then Alexander will meet with the players on Tuesday. I would imagine then we'll find out the retained list either Tuesday evening or Wednesday.

 

Someone said Saturday.

The anniversary memorial will be Sunday, discussions within the club on Monday, and probably released list Tuesday?

Agree with Alexander...I wouldn't want to do the same as Ryan Sparks either.....

 

During the north parade celebrations, Sparks arrived on NP as the last of the squad were coming up. He had a drink or two and a chat on the street with sime fans and looked like he had a fair few ales in him as it was.

Sparks kept looking up at the function room where the squad were and I think he tried getting in but whoever was on the door didn't believe he was with the squad it seemed? All the players are staff were in their City clobber, Sparks was looking like a David Brent tribute act. So him and his mate went back on the street and tried calling everyone they could, but nobody obviously was picking up because the party was in full flow! He was getting a bit annoyed it seemed but everyone who noticed found it funny as F! Think he got up there eventually.

 

I am just glad all the players have Ibiza together to celebrate their achievements this season before the retain list discussions begin next week and reality has to kick in - they all deserve this

 

I love it that they were able to celebrate with the fans on Saturday... that's bonding and I'm sure it's a memory they'll absolutely cherish, like we did

I reckon Wednesday or more probably Thursday for the list. Monday management finalisation of who to release and who to offer contract to (I hope most of this was thought through already in draft based on going up and staying in L2). Tuesday talk to the players - let the release know they are, and put a initial contract proposal to the ones to keep - 14 players out of contract, so that is at LEAST a full day. Wednesday finish off the meetings with players, and have follow-ups with their agents to see if anyone just doesn't want to stay. Marketing team (as always) then spend the vening formatting and plastering branding over the results. Thursday morning x are released, and y have been offered a new contract.

I certainly don’t begrudge the players enjoying the achievement. However we were off the mark very quickly last year and it paid off. I hope a bit of spadework has gone on so that we are not behind other clubs in preperation

 

Hopefully we tell the players first before posting it online, bit awkward at the Preston PR department yesterday

 

Is he any good?

 

There will be no announcements concerning players under contract for next year. We might well be looking to move several players on but we will , rightly, say nothing in public. The only announcements will be regarding those at the end of their contract and those for whom we have an option.
