A US-led consortium are set to buy Colchester - loose ends being tied up.

Do you think our promotion to L1 might stoke fresh buyout interest?

Didn’t Sharpe have some wealthy contacts - even outside his family?

Not all these wealthy buy outs work out though
Carlisle a good example and Reading

I have to say consortiums do make me squirm a bit, it always makes me think of this scene of the US office:

I know Wrexham have two owners, but without Reynolds they'd be nothing lets be honest.

Wow , has their owner forgave the £40m + the club owes him or has he factored that in the sale. I wonder if the owner owns a large chunk of the industrial parks surrounding the ground? .

Nevertheless I know the area pretty well . I find it odd they find it an attractive investment . With limited localised catchment , low ground capacity , a ground difficult to get to without transport …. Strange to say the least.

Gillingham + Walsall are US owned ? I’m not so sure some of these people don’t know what they are getting into . “ I know soccer” springs to mind?

Sometimes better the devil you know . Now if it’s a Bradford lad with a spare £100 million and he is nuts on city
    That’s a different matter

Do you fancy raiding your savings Mrs O and buying out Herr Rupp?

Will Rupp be happy losing £3/4 million a year just to sustain us in League 1, that's the question.

Well a Huddersfield fan with millions to spare took them to the PL then screwed them over by wanting his money back.
They’ll be in league 2 maybe non league soon.

Unfortunately, as long as Sky are pumping money into the game like they are
It’s impossible for the lesser clubs to maintain any success. Luton a prime example and with the parachute payments, they are now the big fish in our league

With increases in prices and the gates we will be getting plus more Sky money and more commercial opportunities I am sure we will manage

This summer will show if he really meant what he said, about understanding what was needed to take the club forward
He definitely delivered this past season, so deserves some credit after the lean years

Kwame Poku, a lad who is out of contract at Peterborough is apparently signing for Birmingham and their Yankee doodles have offered him a £30k a week contract.... £30K a week for a player who's never been a player in the CH level other than a few apps off the bench for them when he first joined Posh. They'll have to pay some sort of comp fee too under the U23 player development fee thing.

    Americans are mental!
