Smallwood set pieces apart is definitely league one standard

 

League one is a funny one, in that there are some high clubs and budgets, but imagine quite a few lower than the top 6-10 in league 2. A consolidation season would be fine by me, but playoffs with a run of form would not be out of the question

 

Looks like Walker is packing football in and going to be a fireman.

 

Also might be interesting to see if recruitment pool is expanded further? Will we look at Ireland again? What about European leagues?

 

Jones left us in 2014, we signed him on a two year deal in 2012, he still played a big part in us finishing 11th in our return to League 1. Smallwood will do the same, even if that's in a little bit more of a squad role.

 

I think we get an extra £700k in TV Money too. We get 12% instead of 8%.

I’d get Pointon and Pattison on longer, improved deals.
Pattison only 1 year left and Pointon 1 year with a 1 year option.

 

Lapslie would also be a good addition to the squad

 

He isn't on loan, he is our player.

I don’t disagree with what you are proposing and I do realise that league 1 is a completely different landscape to the last time we were here. Nevertheless, I think we would have had a better finish if we had all our best players to choose from.

However we arrived here, now is the time to send a message out to all the other clubs, we have not come here to make up the numbers. We go for promotion. If we try and aim for the middle we will end up at the bottom. Obviously we will need to generate income and of course our owner will need to head up the team who will accumulate cash. Our finish maybe nearly finished us all off, but we went viral and any company would want a slice of that action going forward.

 

Same with Leigh you'd imagine. Think those hoping he'll be sent out on loan are going to be disappointed.

 

I think Richie will sign. He commutes from Redcar and how many other clubs within that commute in L1 can offer what we can?

GA has always backed him, even when fans wanted him dropping, and he’s just come off the back of a great season in which he won five awards at the POY night - including the players and fans awards. Id be shocked if he’s not here!

 

Tayo and Khela are both going to go out on loan next season probably to league one. Both have good futures especially Tayo with good competition for places both are good enough
