With their draw tonight he's guided them to safe with a game to spare. What a job he has done with them to took them over in 23rd after 19 games with 12 points and 9 from safety, his 26 games have returned 35 points.

There was nothing wrong with Bowyer, we had a set of fans who were simply too impatient.

This resulted in 2 years been lost as none of the next three managers did any better.

I liked him. Well done to him at Burton

Did they improve after Bowyer sent Elliot Watt on loan to St.Johnstone?

You clearly didn't go to the games at the end of his tenure at City, he'd lost the plot by then and was rightly relieved of his duties. The games at Mansfield and Oldham were bad even by our woeful standards.

That game at Mansfield was painful to watch. It didn't work out for Bowyer at City, but he is a decent man and I am pleased to see he has had some success elsewhere.

Spot on, he came across as quite a humble fella, was a difficult, near impossible, time for any manager coming into the club. But that game at Mansfield was the straw that broke the camels back, the players looked visibly frightened coming out of the tunnel, don't think I'd seem owt like it before.

Oldham was horrendous, it felt like pure hated coming from the stands.

I do think he was harshly judged and like a lot of managers he came in at the wrong time when fan frustration was as high as it has been for a while. It's easy to forget that for a lot of that season we were in with a chance of top 3 and it was very similar to this season with a good home record but poor away record. The other part that I think contributed to the was going into the season with a squad including Doyle, Donaldson, Vaughan and Scannell and fans getting excited by it thinking 100 goals were on the way. The biggest issue with them 4 is we were never going to find a way of playing them all in an effective system and keeping them all happy, it felt to me that we were putting a group of players together without thinking about how they work as a team.

I don't think we get much more spiteful as a fan base, we're pretty mellow on the whole. Wasn't a nice place to be that afternoon, not solely down to Bowyer, more a build up of frustrations.

Agree with much of the above - a thoroughly decent man, but unfortunately he appeared to lose the dressing room towards the end of his tenure.

I went to all the matches. As we've seen with Parkinson and Alexander and if you go to Mansfield the likes of Clough - all managers have bad spells.

My point was, if McCall in particular was the answer - then it's pretty hard to kno what the question was. We all know Bowyer was got rid of - simply to appease a noisy fan base, who at this stage thought that changing the manager as often they change their underwear was the answer.

The fact we never got as high as Bowyer took us for three seasons, shows that it was a hasty decision to sack him.

We got rid of him because he wasn't good enough, nothing else. Just because a manager has success elsewhere doesn't mean he hasn't failed elsewhere. Every successful manager has failed, most more times than been successful and Bowyer is no exception.

If you have a different point of view it's not called 'wumming'.

    It's called 'debating'.

Everything is wonderful, every manager we've sacked was great and the fans are too impatient while every player is fantastic and always too harshly criticised is not "debating".
