I don't think your comments re Byrne are harsh at all. He is woefully short of the standard we need. It would be Huntington, Johnson and Critchlow for me but unfortunately I'm expecting GA to stick with Byrne-I just hope it doesn't cost us

My dad watched city in the 60's and worked as a window cleaner. He was at Salts mill where Ian Hall worked as a groundsman. He asked why they could never seal a promotion. Hall said the players hadd a meeting to see who wanted to go up. They collectively agreed to miss out because even though they were part time they knew some would not get a new contract. My dad said i pay your effing wages. He just shrugged his shoulders and walked off.

We're in 3rd because we are the third best team in the league. We've made mistakes for sure in recent weeks but these mistakes have been counter balanced by long spells of superb form and the best football I've seen us play in league 2 over sustained periods of the season.

Smallwood has enough credit in the bank to be given some allowance for his rash challenge, Baldwin however deserves this criticism. The rest of the team though? They'd be forgiven for telling you where to get off if you said this to their face.

 

Watch it again, the defender was dragging him down by the shirt collar. So yes he should have done better but it’s now within the rules….

 

We go into the last 2 months with a fully fit squad and without daft decision making the title would have been ours weeks ago ............we end up 3rd it will be fully deserved ..............like you say some if the football after Xmas has made a journey down more pleasureable rather than the shite that has been on offer

 

Have done. Daisy McNiven jumped better than he does for a centre half. He is so easily brushed off in all the games he’s played. No intent at all.

Walsall are definitely SHITTER than us atm. That may well change next week though...

 

Well they can have their day and well done to them if they manage it - but half this squad wont be with us next season.

I do think the same of Walsall and I am sure their fans do. Theyve bottled it big time and regardless of L2 or L1 there will be major changes there this summer.

 

This could and should have been so much more enjoyable, trying to gain promotion with nigh on relegation form is not fun!

The players simply have to get their heads sorted next Saturday and put it right.
