A draw, whilst not a disaster I believe would put us under a lot of pressure for the Chesterfield game which would be far from ideal given our away record.
Thing is, we were never going to coast to promotion/the title. It's just not what we do!!!

I don't think a draw helps anyone really but especially City. We draw, Walsall and Donny are against two strugglers who are good at home lately, but they are still strugglers. A draw and we could well be 4th by close of play Friday then we have 2 tough away days and we cant win away to save our lives. A draw and we are still depending on others, we have to push for the win and try get the others to keep pace.

Notts I believe have only 1 win against a top half side away this season which was Grimsby. They lost at Crewe, Walsall, Salford, Vale, Wimbledon & Colchester. They drew away to Donny and Chesterfield. So far going away to promotion chasers, they have been pretty terrible.

Heck yes, I wish I could say it was all good fun too! My illogical glass half empty way of thinking is we'll lose the next game but win the following one, until that game comes along of course and the process continues!

You're probably right especially given our home form v our away form. The problem I have with 'must win" games is what happens psychologically when we don't win that game? That's why in my mind I prefer to think we really do need to win but a draw wouldn't be the end of world!

It's all a mentality thing. Lets be honest, at this stage all 4 games could be seen as must win for some. Thinking bigger picture, it's too easy to get complicated around where a point will do and where a win is needed. The old cliché of "one game at a time" will get thrown around, but not a chance anyone is focused on one game at a time with so few too go and all points now being vital.

I cannot do with all the conundrums. I am in GA camp on this concentrate on our next game, that is all we can control atm.

We have been unlucky this season, and to still be in with a shout of auto’s is some kind of miracle. We are in the home straight now, let’s give the lads all the support to push them over the line.

Being rational and objective about it, I'm with you and Alexander on this. There's nothing we can do with other team's results (other than Donny's and County's of course!) and it's pointless from a manager's or player's perspective focusing on anything other than the next game. That won't of course stop fans, including me, looking at all of the possible outcomes and speculating on our future .. albeit with our c&a tinted glasses on! Fans are rarely rational and objective. ;)

The bigger picture comes with team selection, opponent, rotation, injury and suspension. Of course we want to play our best 11 at all costs, for every game, but team games aren’t like that . If those players are in real danger of burn out do you save those players for the most difficult sides we face? . The fluidity of it all must be a nightmare for managers .
Some players including ours on Sat, just appear to be running in treacle if I take last nights game as an example. IF fit, best 11 it has to be for me, we should fear no one on that basis .

Oh I know, but it puts me on edge tbh. Honestly all previous form goes out of the window when it is this tight.

It will go to the last game of the season, we will all be sat, heads bowed trying to get a mobile signal looking for the results.
I can feel the tension already…..,,,

Walsall have a great set of games on paper but your talking about a team that are in no kind of form at all they fail to beat Harrogate then frankly they simply aint gonna make it ............. i actually thought they would go out and beat Barrow knowing what we had done but another loss yet again.
We win our two home games and say pick up a point away from home then it would mean them picking up 8 points from there last 4 games i mean thats not easy the best of times but there form is relegation form which is gonna make it a lot harder

Our away form has been pretty poor so it makes it vital we win our two home games. One little thing that may help is the extra day to prepare for Chesterfield who have a long trip on Friday

This end of season in a nutshell

Walsall had a great set of games on paper in March as well
    Grimsby at home -lost
    Swindon at home - lost
    Wimbledon at home -draw
    Carlisle away -draw
    Bromley away - draw
    Gillingham away - draw.

    4 points from 18.
Like you say they are really struggling at the moment and psychologically their capitulation from being so far clear must be affecting them.

We simply have to win our 2 home games and hopefully pick up something in at least one of the away games.

Stupid tackles against an opponent in his own half and facing his own goal are not bad luck.

That March set were more difficult on paper.

I'm convinced Walsall will get enough points from their last 4 games to get them over the line in 2nd place. I hope I'm wrong of course.
