Absolutely. I was convinced he was going to botch it, but he was coolness personified.

 

I get that is difficult but it was so frustrating and like @Offcomedun has stated the we should have been doing our hunting in the summer as it was obvious to everyone if we are going for auto promotion we needed the players to take us there.

 

With the debate around Kavanagh it has got me thinking about L1. It will be interesting to see how many of the current squad make the step up if we do go up this season.

The only game I’ve seen this season involving a L1 team was our games in the EFL trophy which isn’t the best barometer for the overall quality of the league.

Hard to use last seasons promoted teams as a measure either given the resources Wrexham and Stockport have and Crawley were pulled about in the summer. I suppose Mansfield maybe are a reasonable gauge.

My instinct is that the majority of the core squad will be able to make the step up but that’s not based on much more than a hunch.

 

But then you look at the Tranmere and Accrington games recently and think we do need to improve the squad significantly if we did go up and not want to be in a relegation battle. Although we pushed Birmingham, especially in the second half for twenty minutes, we were chasing shadows at times. I think we'd need 4-5 players at least.

 

At the minute it's all about getting out of this awful league and I believe the squad we have is more than equipped to do that.
If we do go up I totally agree we need to massively strengthen. I think we probably need more than the 5, especially when you consider who we could be losing.

 

I thought it was a straight red at the time "reckless challenge not in control" and I think the video confirms it IMO.

Think that is the norm for any promoted team.

 

A player was sent off against Wrexham yesterday for a lesser foul. Think back to the game at Crewe when their Captain ordered the ref to send off Patto for an offence that is obviously more serious than a tackle that can potentially end a career.

 

If Kav spends the summer in the gym and bulks up while working on his control we may have a good player for div one if we get there

I was just watching this video and had to ask myself just what planet the big guy with the beard was on when questioned about our fall from grace, asked about our problems and the lack of success he replied "misfortune" I'd suggest "mismanagement" then he said "we had Phil Parkinson who was meant to be Gods gift to football he did nothing", I have to say there are from time to time some outrageous stuff posted on here with regards our team and club but to quote he did nothing has got to be N0 1 for utter nonsense, if you post on her fella you really need to educate yourself.
Like Parky's football style or not he kept us in the EFL in his first season the following 4 seasons were amongst the best period I've had following Bradford City, a promotion and taking us to a play off semi final to possibly go through to another Wembley final, taking us to Wembley twice beating the likes of Chelsea at Stamford Bridge, Villa over two legs, Arsenal, Sunderland, Leeds, I hope Graham Alexander is half as poor with regards delivering our club a bit of success.

 

TBF I did chuckle at that bit. He did nothing and then went on to cite all the things he did. IF that fan is on here maybe he can explain to us why he said what he did. Bizarre.

I could only come to the conclusion that he was confusing Parky with someone else-pretty much anyone who has followed him!

 

I imagine he maybe misspoke due to nerves being on camera?

Since Cook got injured, Kav is averaging 1 in 2 when starting up front plus assists and helping us play on the front foot... how much more capable are you wanting?

 

5 in 16 league matches (including the game Cook was injured in as Kav went upfront after 6 minutes).
